We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead controls and automation scope for a large, complex data center project in Central Missouri. This position will take ownership of project execution from planning and engineering coordination through installation, commissioning, and final turnover. The role will work closely with the customer, general and mechanical contractors, engineering teams, field leadership, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC-based controls and automation along with an understanding of BAS/BMS, HVAC systems, and mission-critical infrastructure. Experience managing large data center, industrial, semiconductor, healthcare, or other technically complex projects is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the overall execution of a large-scale data center controls project.
- Manage project schedule, budget, forecasting, procurement, manpower planning, and change management.
- Coordinate controls scope with mechanical, electrical, BAS/BMS, and other critical building systems.
- Oversee PLC-based control systems, networked controls, instrumentation, and system integration.
- Partner with engineering and programming teams throughout design, submittal, programming, testing, and commissioning.
- Review drawings, specifications, sequences of operation, control schematics, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with general contractors, mechanical contractors, electrical contractors, commissioning teams, vendors, and customer representatives.
- Manage subcontractors and field teams while maintaining accountability for schedule, quality, and project deliverables.
- Identify project risks early and drive solutions before they impact schedule or cost.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, cost projections, and project financial performance.
- Support startup, functional testing, commissioning, and final system turnover.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the customer and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide direction and mentorship to project engineers, coordinators, and field personnel.
Qualifications

- Working knowledge of BAS/BMS and HVAC systems, including AHUs, chillers, pumps, VAVs, cooling systems, and associated controls.
- Data center or other mission-critical project experience strongly preferred.
- Understanding of control networks and protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC is beneficial.
- Experience coordinating controls with mechanical and electrical infrastructure, including critical power and monitoring systems.
- Strong understanding of construction schedules, project financials, change management, procurement, and subcontractor management.
- Ability to read and interpret controls drawings, electrical drawings, mechanical plans, specifications, and sequences of operation.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage communication across customers, contractors, engineers, and field personnel.
What We're Looking For
This opportunity is best suited for someone who has progressed beyond managing individual controls packages and is comfortable taking ownership of a large, highly coordinated mission-critical project. The right person will understand both the technical and commercial sides of project delivery and be able to anticipate issues, lead teams, communicate effectively with senior stakeholders, and keep a complex project moving forward. Candidates coming from PLC/industrial automation, data center controls, BAS/BMS integration, or mission-critical controls backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Frame Your HR Credentials for Staffing Contexts
Jobot operates in staffing and recruiting, so tailor your resume to highlight experience with high-volume hiring, workforce planning, or contractor compliance. HR generalist backgrounds that show exposure to contingent workforce management stand out in this industry.
Verify Your Visa Type Matches Open Roles
Jobot has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visas for HR roles. Confirm your current status aligns before applying. If you're on OPT, your 60-day grace period does not count as authorized employment, so time applications around active work authorization.
Target Jobot Listings That Specify Sponsorship Availability
Use Migrate Mate to filter Jobot's Human Resources Manager openings specifically by visa sponsorship eligibility. Not every Jobot HR posting will include sponsorship, so filtering by confirmed sponsorship history saves you from wasted outreach.
Prepare Your LCA Documentation Before the Offer Stage
For H-1B sponsorship, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Have your job title, duties, and work location details documented clearly so Jobot's HR or legal team can move quickly after extending an offer.
Understand How Staffing Firms Handle H-1B Timing
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, negotiate a start date that aligns with USCIS processing timelines and confirm whether Jobot is filing cap-subject or cap-exempt on your behalf.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope During Offer Negotiations
Staffing companies sometimes distinguish between internal corporate roles and client-placed roles in their sponsorship policies. As an internal HR Manager at Jobot, confirm in writing that the sponsorship covers your direct employment, not a client site placement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Jobot sponsor H-1B visas for Human Resources Managers?
Yes, Jobot has sponsored H-1B visas for Human Resources Manager roles. Because Jobot is a staffing and recruiting firm, its internal HR function is treated as direct employment, which means H-1B sponsorship applies to your role at Jobot itself. Confirm sponsorship availability for a specific opening during the interview process, as not every posting includes it.
Which visa types are commonly used for Human Resources Manager roles at Jobot?
Jobot has sponsored H-1B, F-1 OPT, and TN visas for Human Resources Manager positions. H-1B is the most common pathway for long-term sponsorship. F-1 OPT works if you're within your authorized OPT window. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose HR qualifications meet the USMCA occupational category requirements.
What qualifications or experience does Jobot expect for Human Resources Manager roles?
Jobot typically looks for HR professionals with experience supporting recruiting operations, employee relations, and compliance in fast-paced environments. A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is generally expected. Familiarity with staffing industry workflows, including contractor onboarding and workforce planning, strengthens your profile for this specific company.
How do I apply for Human Resources Manager jobs at Jobot?
Browse current Human Resources Manager openings at Jobot with confirmed visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which filters listings specifically for candidates who need sponsorship. Apply directly through the job listing and be transparent about your visa status early in the process. Jobot's recruiting team moves quickly, so having your resume and work authorization documents ready before you apply helps.
How do I manage the timeline between a Jobot offer and my visa filing?
Once Jobot extends an offer, the H-1B process starts with a DOL Labor Condition Application, which typically takes one to two weeks. USCIS standard processing for an H-1B petition runs three to five months. If you're on OPT with a gap approaching, discuss premium processing with Jobot's team, which reduces USCIS adjudication to roughly 15 business days.
