Overview:
We are seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician with a "fix-anything" mindset to join our team. This is a true multi-craft role—to be successful, you must be confident working across both mechanical and electrical disciplines, with strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to work problems from symptoms to root cause.
Whether you are a Junior Technician fresh out of Technical school looking to build a career, or a Seasoned Veteran with 20+ years of industrial experience, we have a place for you. We value technical curiosity and the ability to diagnose complex systems. While we utilize specialized CNC machinery and robotics, these skills aren't required on day one–we are looking for a technician with a broad-based skill set who can master our specific equipment through provided training and hands-on experience.
If you are a versatile problem-solver with strong fundamentals in electrical, mechanical, plc and more, we want to hear from you.
Compensation
- $29.25 - $37.25 / hr base pay
- $28 - $36 / hr base pay
- $1.25 / hr shift differential
Shifts
- 3rd: 11pm - 7:30am
Benefits
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Paid time off, holidays, and personal leave
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot Anything – Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues quickly and safely; approach each problem with a structured mindset to restore equipment and prevent repeat failures.
- Electrical Maintenance & Diagnostics – Troubleshoot low-voltage controls, sensors, motors, starters, and relays. Support high-voltage troubleshooting and ensure all work meets safety and LOTO standards.
- Mechanical Systems & Repair – Repair and rebuild gearboxes, conveyors, and complex industrial machinery. Perform precision alignments and component replacements.
- PLC & Automation Support – Perform hands-on troubleshooting of PLC-driven equipment. While our systems are specific, we need technicians who can navigate logic to identify hardware vs. software issues.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems – Maintain and repair high-use pumps, cylinders, valves, and actuators essential to our production uptime.
- CNC & Robotics Maintenance – Provide specialized support for CNC equipment and robotic cells (Experience is a plus; we will train the right multi-craft candidate).
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance – Execute scheduled PMs within our SAP PM system, identifying and flagging wear-and-tear before it leads to a breakdown.
- Documentation & Readiness – Log all work in SAP, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure a clean "Equipment Turnover" to the operations team after repairs.
Requirements Required:
- The Multi-Craft Mindset: A proven ability to work "both sides of the house" (Electrical and Mechanical).
- Electrical Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting sensors, motors, and control panels.
- Mechanical Skills: Experience with equipment teardowns, rebuilds, and power transmission systems.

Align your credentials to staffing operations standards
Operations Technician roles in staffing firms require documented proficiency in workforce coordination and process systems. Before applying, ensure your resume reflects the specific operational workflows laborup runs, not just general technical skills from unrelated industries.
Target laborup's open roles by location cluster
laborup consistently posts Operations Technician openings across multiple markets. Identify which locations have the highest volume of active postings and prioritize those. Offices with recurring hiring patterns are more likely to have established sponsorship pipelines already in place.
Confirm your OPT cap-gap eligibility before the H-1B transition
If you're moving from F-1 OPT to H-1B status at laborup, your cap-gap period protects your work authorization between OPT expiration and October 1. File your H-1B petition before your OPT expires to maintain continuous employment without a gap.
Ask about the LCA filing timeline during the offer stage
Before an H-1B petition can be filed, laborup's HR team must obtain a certified Labor Condition Application from the DOL. Ask specifically when LCA filing begins after an offer is extended, since delays here push back your overall start date.
Use Migrate Mate to surface laborup Operations Technician openings
Searching general job boards often buries sponsorship-eligible roles. Use Migrate Mate to filter Operations Technician positions at laborup by visa type, so you only see roles where your specific authorization status has been supported.
Verify TN eligibility against your specific job duties
TN status for Operations Technician roles requires that your actual day-to-day duties map to a qualifying USMCA occupation category. Have laborup's HR confirm the job description supports a TN classification before the offer letter is finalized, not after.

Find Operations Technician at laborup JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does laborup sponsor H-1B visas for Operations Technicians?
Yes, laborup has sponsored H-1B visas for Operations Technician roles. As a staffing and recruiting firm, laborup handles the employer-side filings, including the Labor Condition Application through the DOL and the I-129 petition through USCIS. Confirm sponsorship availability directly with their HR team when you receive an offer, since not every open role is automatically approved for sponsorship.
How do I apply for Operations Technician jobs at laborup?
You can find and apply for Operations Technician openings at laborup through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions compatible with your authorization status. When you apply, clearly indicate your visa type and work authorization timeline in your application materials. laborup's recruiting team typically screens for both technical fit and sponsorship eligibility early in the process.
Which visa types does laborup commonly use for Operations Technician roles?
laborup supports H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Operations Technician positions. F-1 CPT and OPT are common entry points for recent graduates, with H-1B sponsorship as the longer-term path. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose job duties align with a qualifying USMCA occupation category.
What qualifications does laborup expect for Operations Technician candidates?
laborup typically looks for candidates with hands-on experience in operational workflows, process coordination, or technical systems relevant to staffing environments. A bachelor's degree in a related field strengthens your H-1B or TN case since it helps establish the specialty occupation or USMCA classification. Familiarity with workforce management platforms and operational reporting tools is a practical differentiator for this role.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing an Operations Technician role at laborup on an H-1B?
H-1B petitions are subject to an annual cap with a lottery that typically runs in March for an October 1 start date. If you're on OPT and receive an offer from laborup before the lottery, your cap-gap coverage through USCIS protects your work authorization during the transition period. Build at least six to eight months of runway between your offer date and your OPT expiration to avoid authorization gaps.
