Overview:
We are seeking a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician with a "fix-anything" mindset to join our team. This is a true multi-craft role—to be successful, you must be confident working across both mechanical and electrical disciplines, with strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to work problems from symptoms to root cause.
Whether you are a Junior Technician fresh out of Technical school looking to build a career, or a Seasoned Veteran with 20+ years of industrial experience, we have a place for you. We value technical curiosity and the ability to diagnose complex systems. While we utilize specialized CNC machinery and robotics, these skills aren't required on day one–we are looking for a technician with a broad-based skill set who can master our specific equipment through provided training and hands-on experience.
If you are a versatile problem-solver with strong fundamentals in electrical, mechanical, plc and more, we want to hear from you.
Compensation
- $29.25 - $37.25 / hr base pay
- $28 - $36 / hr base pay
- $1.25 / hr shift differential
Shifts
- 3rd: 11pm - 7:30am
Benefits
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) retirement savings plan
- Paid time off, holidays, and personal leave
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot Anything – Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues quickly and safely; approach each problem with a structured mindset to restore equipment and prevent repeat failures.
- Electrical Maintenance & Diagnostics – Troubleshoot low-voltage controls, sensors, motors, starters, and relays. Support high-voltage troubleshooting and ensure all work meets safety and LOTO standards.
- Mechanical Systems & Repair – Repair and rebuild gearboxes, conveyors, and complex industrial machinery. Perform precision alignments and component replacements.
- PLC & Automation Support – Perform hands-on troubleshooting of PLC-driven equipment. While our systems are specific, we need technicians who can navigate logic to identify hardware vs. software issues.
- Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems – Maintain and repair high-use pumps, cylinders, valves, and actuators essential to our production uptime.
- CNC & Robotics Maintenance – Provide specialized support for CNC equipment and robotic cells (Experience is a plus; we will train the right multi-craft candidate).
- Preventive & Predictive Maintenance – Execute scheduled PMs within our SAP PM system, identifying and flagging wear-and-tear before it leads to a breakdown.
- Documentation & Readiness – Log all work in SAP, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure a clean "Equipment Turnover" to the operations team after repairs.
Requirements Required:
- The Multi-Craft Mindset: A proven ability to work "both sides of the house" (Electrical and Mechanical).
- Electrical Skills: Proficient in troubleshooting sensors, motors, and control panels.
- Mechanical Skills: Experience with equipment teardowns, rebuilds, and power transmission systems.

Frame your resume around operational throughput
Staffing firms evaluate Operations candidates on measurable process ownership, not just task lists. Quantify how you've reduced turnaround times, improved fill rates, or scaled workflows. This signals you can handle the operational tempo a recruiting firm demands.
Target laborup's internal operations openings directly
laborup posts a high volume of Operations roles at any given time. Search their careers page specifically for titles like Operations Coordinator, Operations Manager, or Process Specialist rather than relying on aggregators, which frequently lag behind actual postings.
Clarify your OPT or TN timeline before your first interview
If you're on F-1 OPT, know your exact end date and whether STEM extension applies to your degree. laborup sponsors TN as well, so Canadian and Mexican nationals should confirm their occupation category maps to the Operations role description before applying.
Ask the recruiter about LCA filing timelines early
H-1B sponsorship requires a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL before USCIS can adjudicate your petition. In staffing operations roles, project start dates often shift. Asking upfront how laborup sequences LCA filing relative to your offer letter prevents timeline surprises.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Operations roles by sponsorship type
Sponsorship availability varies by role level and location within laborup's portfolio. Use Migrate Mate to filter Operations openings at laborup by the visa types they've sponsored, so you're only spending time on roles that match your current status.
Align your credentials to DOL specialty occupation standards
For H-1B approval in an Operations role, USCIS expects the position to require a specific bachelor's degree field, not just any degree. Review the job description against DOL's specialty occupation criteria and prepare documentation showing your degree field directly supports the role's core duties.

Does laborup sponsor H-1B visas for Operations?
Yes, laborup has sponsored H-1B visas for Operations roles. Because laborup operates in the staffing and recruiting industry, Operations positions are central to their business, which strengthens the specialty occupation argument required for H-1B approval. You'll still need to confirm sponsorship availability with the specific hiring team, as not every open role is automatically approved for H-1B filing.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at laborup?
Apply directly through laborup's careers page or use Migrate Mate, which lists Operations openings at laborup filtered by visa sponsorship type. Before applying, confirm your visa status aligns with the role's sponsorship options. For H-1B and TN positions, having your credential documents organized before the offer stage significantly speeds up the filing process.
Which visa types are commonly used for Operations roles at laborup?
laborup sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Operations positions. F-1 OPT and CPT are most common for recent graduates entering operations functions. TN is a practical option for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the Operations role maps to an eligible USMCA occupation category. H-1B is typically used for longer-term placements requiring employer sponsorship through the annual lottery.
What qualifications does laborup expect for Operations roles?
laborup's Operations roles in the staffing sector generally require experience with workflow management, process coordination, or recruiting operations. For H-1B eligibility specifically, USCIS requires the role to demand a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Backgrounds in business operations, supply chain, or human resources are commonly associated with these positions. Experience with applicant tracking systems or workforce platforms is frequently listed as a practical requirement.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for an Operations role at laborup?
Timeline depends on which visa path applies. F-1 OPT and CPT authorization can be arranged in weeks, while TN status for Canadians is often processed at the port of entry on the same day. H-1B petitions follow USCIS processing windows, which currently run several months for standard processing or two to three weeks with premium processing. Plan to have your documentation ready before the offer is finalized to avoid delays.
