Align your background to device verticals
Medtronic organizes its sales force by product portfolio, including cardiac, spine, and diabetes. Tailoring your resume to a specific division signals readiness and shortens the time a hiring manager spends assessing your fit.
Target roles in cap-exempt filing windows
H-1B cap-subject petitions are tied to the April lottery and October 1 start dates. If you're already on H-1B status elsewhere, a transfer to Medtronic can happen any time of year without waiting for a new cap season.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Medtronic Sales roles
Medtronic posts Sales openings across dozens of territories simultaneously. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles at Medtronic that align with your visa type, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare for a multi-stage interview process
Medtronic Sales interviews typically include a hiring manager screen, a panel round, and a territory or case presentation. Gather clinical fluency examples early, since roles touching surgical or implantable devices often require demonstrated comfort with operating room environments.
Understand what PERM means for long-term status
If Medtronic sponsors you for an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, the process starts with a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL. Confirming a company's Green Card sponsorship policy during the offer stage, not after, keeps your long-term timeline on track.

Find Sales at Medtronic JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Medtronic sponsor H-1B visas for Sales roles?
Yes, Medtronic sponsors H-1B visas for Sales positions, particularly in roles requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as biomedical engineering, life sciences, or business. Sales roles tied to technically complex products, including surgical robotics or implantable devices, tend to have stronger sponsorship support because they meet the specialty occupation threshold USCIS requires.
How do I apply for Sales jobs at Medtronic?
Applications go through Medtronic's careers portal. Search by product division or geography, since Sales roles are territory-based. You can also browse Medtronic Sales openings filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions where sponsorship is confirmed. Tailor your application to the specific product line, as hiring managers review candidates with that lens first.
Which visa types does Medtronic commonly use for Sales roles?
Medtronic sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT for Sales professionals, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates moving into medical device sales from life sciences or engineering programs.
What qualifications does Medtronic expect for Sales roles?
Most Medtronic Sales positions require a bachelor's degree, commonly in life sciences, biomedical engineering, or a related technical field. Clinical selling experience or familiarity with hospital procurement processes is valued, particularly for roles involving implantable or capital equipment products. Territory management experience and comfort in clinical settings, including operating rooms, are frequently listed in job requirements.
How do I plan my visa timeline when pursuing a Medtronic Sales offer?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your expiration date before accepting an offer, since Medtronic's onboarding process can take several weeks. For H-1B transfers from another employer, USCIS allows portability once your petition is filed, so you can start before approval. For Green Card sponsorship, ask about Medtronic's PERM filing policy at the offer stage to understand when the process would begin.
