Northwestern College seeks a motivated and collaborative engineering educator to join its developing undergraduate engineering program in August 2027. This position will teach civil engineering courses such as Engineering Materials with Lab, Geomatics, and Design of Concrete Structures, as well as foundational engineering courses such as Statics. The ideal candidate will have expertise in a civil engineering specialty or closely related field, a commitment to excellent undergraduate teaching, and enthusiasm for mentoring future engineers. The full-time teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will participate in scholarship and service appropriate to their experience and career stage. Required Qualifications
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in civil engineering, structural engineering or a closely related field to be considered for a tenure-track position. Candidates with a master’s degree and professional experience may be considered for instructor or professor-of-practice appointments.
Candidates should demonstrate effective teaching or teaching potential, an interest in mentoring undergraduate students, and a commitment to continued growth as an engineering educator. Evidence of scholarly activity or the potential for meaningful scholarly engagement is expected.
