Target engineering and technical roles
Novanta's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines tied to its medical device and precision technology work. Focus your applications on roles in electrical, mechanical, or software engineering where the company's sponsorship history is strongest.
Understand which visa types Novanta supports
Novanta sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas. If you're on OPT or CPT, you may be able to start working while your H-1B petition is in process, clarify this timeline early in conversations with recruiters.
Raise sponsorship early, not at the offer stage
Medical device companies run structured hiring processes. Bring up your visa needs before final interviews so hiring managers can loop in HR and legal counsel without delays that could cost you the offer.
Align your background with Novanta's core markets
Novanta develops components for surgical robotics, imaging, and minimally invasive procedures. Candidates whose experience touches these applications are more competitive for roles that historically receive sponsorship support.
Search for open roles on a platform that tracks sponsorship history
Not every job posting signals whether a company will sponsor. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history and find Novanta openings confirmed to be accessible to visa holders.
Prepare for a structured, multi-round interview process
Novanta operates across multiple global sites and business units. Expect technical assessments alongside cultural fit interviews. Understanding which business unit a role sits in helps you tailor your preparation and demonstrate relevant domain knowledge.
