Tailor your credentials to PBA's mission
Palm Beach Atlantic is a Christian liberal arts university, so your application materials should reflect how your teaching philosophy aligns with its faith-integrated academic environment. Committees notice when candidates speak directly to institutional culture, not just subject matter expertise.
Verify your degree meets specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires Instructor roles to qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B rules, meaning your degree field must directly relate to the courses you'd teach. A mismatch between your credentials and the assigned subject area is a common denial trigger worth resolving before you apply.
Target departments with ongoing curriculum gaps
PBA regularly posts across disciplines, from business to nursing to the arts. Research which departments have multiple open Instructor listings and focus your outreach there. Departments actively expanding curriculum are more likely to pursue visa sponsorship for the right candidate.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Instructor openings at PBA
Migrate Mate lets you browse Instructor positions at Palm Beach Atlantic University filtered by visa type, so you can focus only on roles where sponsorship is on the table. That saves time you'd otherwise spend chasing listings with no sponsorship pathway.
Ask HR about H-1B filing timelines during the offer stage
USCIS's H-1B cap registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive an offer outside that window, ask whether PBA files cap-exempt petitions or can structure your start date around the annual cycle to avoid a gap in authorization.
Confirm your OPT or TN status bridges the filing period
If you're currently on F-1 OPT or TN status, map your authorization end date against the DOL Labor Condition Application and I-129 filing timeline. A lapse between your current status and an approved petition can jeopardize your ability to start on schedule.

Does Palm Beach Atlantic University sponsor H-1B visas for Instructors?
Yes, Palm Beach Atlantic University has sponsored H-1B visas for Instructor roles. The process follows the standard employer-sponsored H-1B pathway: PBA files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, then submits an I-129 petition to USCIS on your behalf. Because PBA is not a cap-exempt institution, new H-1B petitions are subject to the annual lottery unless you already hold H-1B status.
How do I apply for Instructor jobs at Palm Beach Atlantic University?
Applications for Instructor roles at Palm Beach Atlantic University go through their careers portal. Most postings ask for a CV, cover letter, teaching statement, and references. For faith-integrated institutions like PBA, including a statement of Christian faith is often required or strongly expected. You can also find visa-sponsoring Instructor openings at PBA through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by sponsorship type.
Which visa types does Palm Beach Atlantic University commonly use for Instructor roles?
Palm Beach Atlantic University sponsors H-1B visas as the primary long-term option for Instructor roles, along with E-3 visas for Australian citizens and TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying academic positions. For candidates finishing U.S. degrees, F-1 OPT and CPT provide a bridge while a longer-term petition is processed. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and the specific role structure.
What qualifications does Palm Beach Atlantic University expect for Instructor positions?
Most Instructor roles at PBA require at least a master's degree in a field directly relevant to the courses being taught, though terminal degrees are often preferred for full-time positions. USCIS also requires that the role itself qualifies as a specialty occupation, meaning the degree must be specifically tied to the job duties. Practical teaching experience and familiarity with faith-integrated pedagogy strengthen your profile significantly.
How do I handle timing if I receive an Instructor offer from Palm Beach Atlantic University mid-year?
H-1B cap registration runs in March for an October 1 start, so a mid-year offer may mean waiting for the next cycle unless PBA can use premium processing or you're transferring from existing H-1B status. TN and E-3 visas have no annual cap and can be filed any time, making them faster options if you qualify. Clarify the timeline with PBA's HR team as early as possible to avoid start-date conflicts.
