Frame your credentials for specialty occupation standards
Recruiting Manager roles require a directly related degree to satisfy specialty occupation requirements. A degree in human resources, business administration, or organizational psychology maps cleanly. Avoid listing unrelated coursework as primary qualifications when applying, since USCIS scrutinizes degree-field alignment for professional services roles.
Target Robert Half's enterprise staffing divisions first
Robert Half's larger client-facing divisions handle higher-complexity searches and are more likely to justify sponsorship for experienced candidates. Applying to roles tied to finance, technology, or legal staffing practices gives you a stronger business case than entry-level generalist positions.
Understand which visa pathways Robert Half actively uses
Robert Half sponsors across both temporary and permanent categories for this role. If you're on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period between jobs is a hard deadline. Line up your timeline so the employer's USCIS filing window overlaps with your remaining authorized stay.
Prepare for the PERM process if a Green Card is the goal
Robert Half's sponsorship history includes EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, which require DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS petition filing. That process takes 12 to 18 months at minimum. Raise Green Card intent early in negotiations so both parties can align on the commitment timeline.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles with confirmed sponsorship
Not every Recruiting Manager posting at Robert Half will flag visa sponsorship explicitly. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Robert Half roles where sponsorship is confirmed, so you're applying to positions that are already cleared rather than speculating from a job board listing.
Align your offer negotiation with the LCA filing window
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can process your petition. Once you accept an offer, request a written sponsorship timeline from HR immediately so LCA preparation starts before your start date, not after.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Robert Half sponsor H-1B visas for Recruiting Managers?
Robert Half does not consistently sponsor H-1B visas for Recruiting Manager roles. The company's sponsorship activity for this function leans toward E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and permanent pathways like EB-2 and EB-3. H-1B sponsorship is not the primary route here, and the H-1B lottery adds timing uncertainty that staffing firms often prefer to avoid.
How do I apply for Recruiting Manager jobs at Robert Half?
Applications go through Robert Half's careers portal, but not every listing specifies whether sponsorship is available. The most reliable approach is to use Migrate Mate, which filters Robert Half's Recruiting Manager openings by sponsorship status, so you can focus on roles where your visa situation is already accounted for. Tailor your resume to emphasize client management and placement metrics, which align with how Robert Half evaluates candidates for this function.
Which visa types are commonly used for Recruiting Manager roles at Robert Half?
Robert Half's sponsorship activity for Recruiting Managers spans several categories. Australian citizens are often supported through the E-3 visa, which has no annual lottery and allows two-year renewable periods. Canadian and Mexican professionals may qualify under TN status. For candidates seeking permanent residence, EB-2 and EB-3 pathways are options, though both require DOL PERM labor certification before the USCIS petition stage. F-1 OPT and CPT are also in use for candidates still in the student phase.
What qualifications does Robert Half expect for a sponsored Recruiting Manager position?
Robert Half typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a closely related field, alongside demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruiting or staffing operations. For sponsored roles, your degree must align with the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to professional services positions. Client-facing experience, quota attainment history, and familiarity with applicant tracking systems all strengthen your candidacy beyond the baseline credentials.
How do I time my application if I'm currently on F-1 OPT?
If you're on F-1 OPT and targeting a Recruiting Manager role at Robert Half, your available work authorization window is the primary constraint. You have a 60-day grace period after OPT ends if employment stops, and STEM OPT extends eligibility by 24 months for qualifying degrees. Align your application timeline so an offer and any subsequent USCIS petition filing fall within your authorized period, and confirm with HR that sponsorship paperwork starts immediately after the offer is signed.
