Align Your Credentials to U.S. Standards
Robert Half's clients in professional services expect familiarity with U.S. GAAP, QuickBooks, and payroll compliance. If your bookkeeping credentials are from outside the U.S., get them evaluated by a NACES-approved service before you apply.
Target Robert Half's Direct-Hire Roles
Robert Half fills both contract and direct-hire Bookkeeper positions. Direct-hire placements are where visa sponsorship is far more likely, since the end client takes on the long-term employment relationship and the associated filing obligations.
Browse Open Bookkeeper Roles on Migrate Mate
Robert Half lists Bookkeeper openings across multiple U.S. markets. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles at Robert Half that have an active sponsorship track record, so you're applying where authorization is genuinely on the table.
Ask About the Client's E-Verify Enrollment Early
Because Robert Half places workers at third-party client sites, the client company must also be E-Verify enrolled to employ a sponsored worker. Confirm this during the offer stage to avoid delays after a conditional offer has been made.

Find Bookkeeper at Robert Half JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Robert Half sponsor H-1B visas for Bookkeepers?
Robert Half's sponsorship activity for Bookkeeper roles is concentrated in other visa categories rather than the H-1B. The company's filings for this function lean toward E-3, TN, and EB-2/EB-3 pathways. If H-1B is your only option, discuss it explicitly during the offer stage, as sponsorship decisions are made case by case and often involve the end client's preferences.
Which visa types are commonly used for Bookkeeper roles at Robert Half?
Robert Half sponsors Bookkeeper positions across several visa categories: E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for students on F-1 status, and EB-2 or EB-3 for permanent residence pathways. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and whether the role is contract-based or a direct-hire permanent position.
What qualifications or experience does Robert Half expect for sponsored Bookkeeper roles?
Robert Half's Bookkeeper placements in professional services typically require hands-on experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll processing. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage is expected. For visa-sponsored roles, you'll also need a formal degree in accounting or a closely related field, since specialty occupation requirements apply to most sponsored categories.
How do I apply for Bookkeeper jobs at Robert Half?
You can find Robert Half's open Bookkeeper roles on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by sponsorship history so you can identify positions where authorization is genuinely available. Apply directly through Robert Half's portal or via a recruiter contact. Disclose your visa status and target category upfront so the team can assess fit with both Robert Half's internal structure and the end client's requirements.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Bookkeeper at Robert Half?
Timeline depends on the visa category. E-3 and TN sponsorship can move quickly, often within a few weeks of an offer, since neither requires USCIS petition approval for initial entry. F-1 OPT activation runs through your university's DSO. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship involves PERM labor certification, which USCIS and DOL together can stretch past 18 months. Raise your preferred pathway before signing any offer.
