Does Rush University Medical Center sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Rush University Medical Center sponsors H-1B visas and does so with meaningful regularity. It is one of the more active hospital and academic medical center sponsors in the Chicago area. Sponsored roles span clinical medicine, research, and healthcare administration. If you're targeting Rush on an H-1B, prioritize specialty roles that clearly require a degree in a specific field.
Which visa types does Rush University Medical Center sponsor?
Rush sponsors a broad range of visa categories including H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT, as well as permanent residency through EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways. The range reflects Rush's size as an academic medical center with diverse staffing needs, from clinical training programs covered by J-1 to long-term specialist hires sponsored on H-1B or Green Card.
Which departments or roles at Rush University Medical Center are most likely to get sponsored?
Sponsorship at Rush is most common in clinical departments such as internal medicine, surgery, oncology, and radiology, as well as in biomedical research and laboratory sciences. Administrative and technical healthcare roles, including health informatics and clinical project management, also see sponsorship activity. Roles requiring highly specialized credentials and licensure are the strongest candidates for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Rush University Medical Center?
The most efficient approach is to search on Migrate Mate, which tracks verified sponsoring employers and surfaces open roles by company and visa type. Rather than guessing which postings include sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you filter directly for Rush University Medical Center and see available positions tied to its documented sponsorship history, saving you from applying to roles that won't support your visa.
How do I time my application to Rush University Medical Center around H-1B deadlines?
If you need H-1B sponsorship, the critical window is October 1, when the new fiscal year begins and approved petitions take effect. To meet that date, your employer typically needs to file by April 1. Working backward, aim to have an offer accepted by January or February at the latest. For F-1 OPT holders, apply early enough that Rush can initiate the H-1B petition before your OPT expires.
