Align your resume to AI infrastructure stacks
Scale AI's DevOps roles support data labeling pipelines and model training workflows. Highlight experience with Kubernetes, cloud-native tooling, and CI/CD systems that operate at scale. Generic infrastructure experience reads weaker than hands-on work with data-intensive or ML-adjacent platforms.
Confirm your visa category before applying
Scale AI sponsors several visa types for DevOps, including H-1B, E-3, TN, and F-1 OPT. Knowing which category applies to you before your first interview helps you answer sponsorship questions confidently and avoids delays if the recruiter needs to confirm feasibility internally.
Start your OPT job search at least three months early
F-1 OPT gives you a 60-day grace period after your program ends, but Scale AI's DevOps hiring process typically involves multiple technical rounds. Apply early enough that an offer and any required filings land well before your authorization window closes.
Use Migrate Mate to filter verified DevOps openings
Searching for roles that genuinely offer sponsorship is time-consuming. Use Migrate Mate to browse verified DevOps positions at Scale AI filtered by your visa type, so you're only spending time on roles where your immigration situation is already accounted for.
Understand the LCA before your offer stage
For H-1B and E-3 transfers or new petitions, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying the offered wage meets prevailing wage levels for your location. If Scale AI is hiring you in San Francisco, expect the prevailing wage benchmark to be high.
Flag cap-exempt status if you're already on H-1B
If you currently hold an H-1B with another employer, you're cap-exempt and can transfer to Scale AI year-round without waiting for the April lottery. Communicate this to your recruiter early since it significantly shortens the timeline and removes lottery risk from the equation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Scale AI sponsor H-1B visas for DevOps roles?
Yes, Scale AI sponsors H-1B visas for DevOps positions. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, Scale AI can file an H-1B transfer without waiting for the annual lottery, and you can begin work as soon as USCIS receives the petition. New H-1B applicants without existing status will need to go through the April cap lottery.
Which visa types does Scale AI commonly sponsor for DevOps roles?
Scale AI sponsors a range of visa categories for DevOps, including H-1B, E-3 visa for Australian citizens, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, F-1 OPT and CPT for current international students, J-1 visa, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employment. The right category depends on your citizenship, current status, and where you are in your career.
What qualifications does Scale AI expect for DevOps roles?
Scale AI's DevOps roles typically require experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, container orchestration using Kubernetes, and infrastructure automation tooling. Given the company's focus on AI data pipelines, familiarity with high-throughput distributed systems is a practical advantage. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related engineering field is standard for H-1B specialty occupation purposes.
How do I apply for DevOps jobs at Scale AI?
You can browse and apply for DevOps roles at Scale AI through Migrate Mate, which lists open positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. Before applying, tailor your resume to reflect infrastructure work in data-heavy or machine learning environments, since Scale AI's engineering work centers on AI platform support. Expect a technical screening followed by multiple interview rounds.
How do I plan my timeline for a DevOps role at Scale AI on a work visa?
Timeline depends heavily on your visa category. H-1B transfers and E-3 applications can move in four to eight weeks if the employer files promptly and the Labor Condition Application is certified by the DOL without delays. F-1 OPT holders should account for the full interview process plus filing time within their authorized work window to avoid gaps in employment authorization.
