Find Product Software Engineer at Scale AI JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Scale AI sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, Scale AI sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineer roles. The H-1B is subject to the annual cap and lottery, so timing matters. If you are on F-1 OPT, your employer would typically file the H-1B petition in April for an October 1 start date. Scale AI also sponsors cap-exempt transfers for candidates already holding H-1B status with another employer.
Which visa types are commonly used for Product Software Engineer roles at Scale AI?
Scale AI sponsors H-1B, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for engineering roles. Australian engineers frequently use the E-3, which has no lottery and faster processing. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status. F-1 students typically start on OPT and transition to H-1B after the lottery.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at Scale AI?
You can find active Product Software Engineer openings at Scale AI through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship. Apply directly through Scale AI's careers portal with a resume that emphasizes product-facing engineering work, AI or data platform experience, and any cross-functional collaboration with ML or data teams. Tailoring your application to Scale AI's core product areas strengthens your candidacy significantly.
What qualifications and experience does Scale AI expect for Product Software Engineers?
Scale AI typically looks for engineers with a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, which also satisfies USCIS specialty occupation requirements for H-1B petitions. Practically, they prioritize experience with large-scale distributed systems, API design, and ideally some exposure to AI data pipelines, labeling infrastructure, or model evaluation tooling. Strong product instincts alongside engineering depth distinguish competitive candidates.
How do I plan my timeline when targeting a Product Software Engineer role at Scale AI on a visa?
If you are on F-1 OPT, your 60-day grace period and OPT expiration create hard deadlines. Targeting roles at least three to four months before your OPT ends gives Scale AI time to file an H-1B or process an E-3 or TN. USCIS premium processing for H-1B petitions currently runs 15 business days, which can reduce uncertainty if timing is tight. Start conversations with recruiters early and confirm sponsorship before investing heavily in the interview process.
