Frame your degree around specialty occupations
Sika's Business Development roles typically require a background in chemistry, materials science, civil engineering, or a related field. Make sure your resume and credentials clearly connect your degree to the technical nature of the role before you apply.
Target regional roles tied to construction markets
Sika structures Business Development hiring around construction, roofing, and infrastructure verticals. Focus your search on regions with heavy commercial construction activity, where demand for specialty chemicals drives more active headcount and sponsorship decisions.
Ask about LCA timelines before accepting an offer
Before signing, confirm when your employer plans to file the Labor Condition Application with the DOL. For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt situations, the LCA must be certified before USCIS can receive your petition, and delays here affect your start date.
Use OPT or CPT to build a sponsorship case
If you're on F-1 status, starting in a Business Development role at Sika on OPT lets you demonstrate revenue contribution and technical product knowledge before your employer initiates H-1B sponsorship, strengthening the specialty occupation argument in your petition.
Search Migrate Mate to surface open roles by visa type
Filter Business Development openings at Sika by the visa types they sponsor, including H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT. Migrate Mate surfaces roles where sponsorship is confirmed, so you're not guessing about eligibility before you apply.
Understand TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Sika sponsors TN visas for qualifying roles. Business Development positions tied to scientific or engineering functions can qualify under the TN engineer or scientist categories, but the job duties listed in your offer letter must align precisely with the USMCA classification.

Find Business Development at Sika JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sika sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Sika sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development roles. These positions typically qualify as specialty occupations when the role requires a technical degree in chemistry, materials science, or engineering. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, Sika can file an H-1B transfer, which means you can start work as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Sika?
Applications go through Sika's careers portal, where roles are listed by region and product vertical. Before applying, align your resume to the specific construction or industrial segment the role covers, since Sika's hiring managers evaluate both commercial skills and technical product familiarity. Migrate Mate also lists open Business Development roles at Sika filtered by visa sponsorship type, which helps you prioritize the most relevant openings.
Which visa types does Sika commonly use for Business Development roles?
Sika sponsors H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Business Development positions. H-1B is the most common path for long-term sponsorship. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying technical categories. F-1 OPT is frequently used as an entry point before H-1B sponsorship begins, particularly for recent graduates in engineering or chemistry fields.
What qualifications does Sika expect for Business Development roles?
Sika's Business Development roles in the chemicals and materials space generally require a bachelor's degree in a technical field such as civil engineering, chemistry, or materials science, combined with experience in technical sales or market development. Familiarity with construction product applications, waterproofing systems, or concrete admixtures is a practical advantage. Roles tied to specific verticals like infrastructure or roofing may carry additional product knowledge requirements.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take at Sika?
For H-1B cap-subject petitions, the process is tied to the annual USCIS lottery, which opens in March with an October 1 start date if selected. For cap-exempt situations such as H-1B transfers, USCIS standard processing runs three to five months, with premium processing available for a faster decision. TN sponsorship is faster and can often be resolved at the port of entry, depending on your citizenship.
