Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility requires your Sales Business Development role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Frame your degree in chemistry, materials science, or chemical engineering as directly tied to selling Sika's technical product lines, not just general business development.
Target Sika's construction and industrial segments first
Sika's Sales Business Development openings cluster around roofing, concrete, and industrial flooring segments. Roles with a clear technical sales mandate are stronger H-1B candidates than general territory management positions, so prioritize those when applying.
Ask about the LCA before signing your offer
Before your offer letter is finalized, ask Sika's HR team whether the Labor Condition Application has been filed with DOL for your specific work location. LCA approval is required before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B, and location changes can require a new filing.
Use Migrate Mate to find active Sales Business Development openings
Sika's sponsored roles aren't always labeled as visa-friendly in standard job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter Sales Business Development positions at Sika that are actively open to sponsorship candidates, saving you time on roles that won't move forward.
Prepare for TN if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
TN classification is available at the port of entry without a lottery or USCIS petition. If your Sales Business Development role at Sika maps to a qualifying TN category like Scientific Technologist or Management Consultant, this path avoids H-1B cap uncertainty entirely.

Find Sales Business Development at Sika JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sika sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Business Developments?
Yes, Sika sponsors H-1B visas for Sales Business Development roles. The key requirement is that your position qualifies as a specialty occupation, meaning it genuinely requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific technical field. Roles tied to Sika's chemicals and construction materials product lines, where deep product knowledge is essential, tend to meet this threshold more consistently than general sales territory positions.
Which visa types does Sika commonly use for Sales Business Development roles?
Sika uses H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for Sales Business Development hires. H-1B is the most common route for long-term sponsorship. TN is a practical option for Canadian and Mexican nationals. F-1 OPT and CPT allow recent graduates to start work while an H-1B petition is prepared for the next cap season.
What qualifications does Sika expect for Sales Business Development roles?
Sika typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, civil engineering, or a closely related technical field. Hands-on familiarity with construction chemicals, adhesives, sealants, or concrete solutions is a strong differentiator. For international candidates, having your foreign degree evaluated by a NACES-approved credential evaluator before applying strengthens your specialty occupation case.
How do I apply for Sales Business Development jobs at Sika?
You can apply directly through Sika's careers portal or use Migrate Mate to browse Sales Business Development openings at Sika that are open to visa sponsorship candidates. When you apply, tailor your resume to emphasize technical product knowledge relevant to Sika's portfolio. During the interview process, be direct about your visa status early so Sika's HR team can begin LCA preparation with the DOL without delay.
How long does it take for Sika to complete the H-1B sponsorship process?
The H-1B process for a new cap-subject hire typically spans several months. Sika's legal team files the LCA with DOL first, which takes around seven business days under standard processing. H-1B registration opens each March, and if selected, the petition is filed for an October 1 start date. Premium processing, which expedites USCIS adjudication to 15 business days, is an option that some employers elect to reduce uncertainty.
