Secure your NBCOT certification before applying
Southern New Hampshire Health expects OT candidates to hold active NBCOT certification and New Hampshire state licensure. Get both in order before submitting applications, as immigration paperwork typically starts only after a conditional offer is extended.
Target rehabilitation and acute care postings directly
Southern New Hampshire Health's OT openings tend to cluster in rehabilitation and acute care units. Filtering your search to these specific service lines improves your odds of landing a role where sponsorship has precedent and hiring managers expect international candidates.
Ask your recruiter about prevailing wage compliance upfront
Before accepting an offer, confirm the offered salary meets the DOL prevailing wage for OT roles in the Nashua, NH labor market. The employer must certify this on your Labor Condition Application, and any gap between offer and prevailing wage can stall or block filing.
Use Migrate Mate to identify active OT openings
Sorting through which postings are realistically open to sponsored candidates takes time. Use Migrate Mate to filter Southern New Hampshire Health OT roles by visa sponsorship eligibility, so you're only spending energy on positions where H-1B filing is actually on the table.
Prepare a credentials packet before your first interview
Have your degree equivalency evaluation, NBCOT certification, state license, and clinical references ready before interviews begin. Healthcare employers in New Hampshire move to conditional offers quickly, and a complete packet signals you're ready to proceed without delays.
Understand the H-1B cap and hospital exemption
Nonprofit hospitals affiliated with higher education or research institutions may qualify as cap-exempt employers, allowing year-round H-1B filing outside the annual lottery. Clarify early with Southern New Hampshire Health's HR whether the organization holds cap-exempt status for clinical roles.

Find OT at Southern New Hampshire Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Southern New Hampshire Health sponsor H-1B visas for OTs?
Yes, Southern New Hampshire Health has sponsored H-1B visas for occupational therapy roles. Sponsorship is typically tied to specific open positions rather than a blanket policy, so your best path is applying directly to posted OT roles and confirming sponsorship availability with the recruiter during the initial screening call.
Which visa types are commonly used for OT roles at Southern New Hampshire Health?
The H-1B is the primary work visa used for OT positions at Southern New Hampshire Health, as occupational therapy qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS guidelines. Some internationally trained OTs also enter on TN visas if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, or pursue Green Card sponsorship after an extended employment period.
What qualifications and experience does Southern New Hampshire Health expect from OT candidates?
Candidates need a master's or doctoral degree in occupational therapy, active NBCOT certification, and a current New Hampshire OT license or eligibility for one. Acute care or rehabilitation experience is a consistent expectation for hospital-based roles. Foreign-trained applicants should also have a credential evaluation completed by a NACES-approved agency before applying.
How do I apply for OT jobs at Southern New Hampshire Health?
You can browse and apply for OT roles at Southern New Hampshire Health directly through Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship availability. Once you identify a role, apply through the employer's official careers portal, confirm sponsorship during your recruiter screening, and have your licensure and credential documents ready before the interview stage.
How do I plan my timeline if I need H-1B sponsorship for an OT role?
If Southern New Hampshire Health is cap-subject, your H-1B must be filed during the annual registration window in March for an October 1 start date, meaning you need an offer secured well before then. If the organization qualifies as cap-exempt, filing can happen year-round with USCIS processing typically running two to five months for standard service. Start your licensure and credential verification process at least three to four months before your target start date.
