Get your credentials evaluated before applying
Foreign nursing credentials must be evaluated by a CGFNS-approved organization before USCIS will approve an H-1B petition. Have your evaluation completed and your NCLEX passed before you reach the offer stage to avoid delays.
Target units with persistent staffing shortages
Southern New Hampshire Health consistently posts openings in acute care, med-surg, and critical care. Focusing your application on these high-demand units improves your odds of landing a role where the employer is motivated to invest in sponsorship.
Confirm sponsorship willingness before the interview
Ask the recruiter directly whether the specific unit has budget approved for H-1B filing. Nursing departments sometimes hire independently, so sponsorship availability can vary by team even within the same hospital system.
Browse open Nursing roles using Migrate Mate
Search Migrate Mate to filter active Nursing openings at Southern New Hampshire Health by visa sponsorship. This surfaces roles where sponsorship is an active consideration, saving you from applying to positions where it isn't on the table.
Understand the H-1B cap and lottery timing
Nursing roles at hospitals typically fall under cap-subject H-1B filings, with USCIS registration opening in March for an October 1 start. Plan your job search timeline so any offer aligns with the annual registration window.
Review the DOL prevailing wage before negotiating
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing rate for your nursing classification and location. Checking the DOL wage database in advance helps you negotiate from an informed position.

Does Southern New Hampshire Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, Southern New Hampshire Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Nursing roles. Sponsorship is not automatic for every open position, so confirming with the recruiter early in the process is important. Roles in high-demand clinical areas such as acute care and critical care are where sponsorship activity has been most consistent.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Southern New Hampshire Health?
Applications go through Southern New Hampshire Health's careers portal. Before applying, confirm that your NCLEX license is active in New Hampshire and that your foreign credentials have been evaluated if applicable. In your application and cover letter, address your work authorization status directly so recruiters can route your file to the appropriate hiring team from the start.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing roles at Southern New Hampshire Health?
The H-1B is the primary nonimmigrant visa pathway for internationally trained nurses at U.S. hospitals, including Southern New Hampshire Health. Some nurses also transition through EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship over time, particularly those in stable long-term roles. J-1 exchange visitor visas are less common in direct hospital hire contexts and typically apply to specific training programs rather than staff nursing positions.
What qualifications and experience are expected for Nursing roles here?
Southern New Hampshire Health expects candidates to hold an active New Hampshire RN license, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for most roles, and relevant clinical experience in the specialty area they're applying to. International candidates must also provide a credential evaluation from a CGFNS-approved body and pass the NCLEX. Specialty certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or unit-specific credentials strengthen applications significantly.
How do I find Nursing jobs at Southern New Hampshire Health that include visa sponsorship?
The clearest way to identify which openings include visa sponsorship is to use Migrate Mate, which filters Nursing jobs at Southern New Hampshire Health by sponsorship availability. This removes the guesswork of applying to positions where sponsorship hasn't been approved, and lets you focus your effort on roles where the employer is already prepared to file.
