Align Your Credentials With State Requirements
New Hampshire does not require Medical Assistants to hold state licensure, but Southern New Hampshire Health expects national certification from AAMA or AMT. Verify your credential is recognized before applying, since uncertified candidates rarely advance to visa-sponsored offers.
Target Roles in High-Volume Clinical Departments
Southern New Hampshire Health's sponsorship activity for Medical Assistants is concentrated in outpatient and primary care settings. Search specifically for openings in those departments, where hiring volume is consistent and sponsorship precedent already exists within the organization.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Verified Openings
Browsing general job boards surfaces roles without confirmed sponsorship history. Use Migrate Mate to find Medical Assistant positions at Southern New Hampshire Health where H-1B sponsorship has been documented, so you focus your effort on openings that can actually move your visa forward.
Clarify Sponsorship Timing Before Accepting an Offer
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with an October 1 start date. Before you accept any offer, confirm whether the employer intends to file in the upcoming registration window so you are not left in status limbo for an additional year.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation Argument for Your Role
USCIS scrutinizes H-1B petitions for Medical Assistant roles because the position is not always classified as a specialty occupation. Work with the employer's immigration counsel early to document that your specific responsibilities require a bachelor's-level background in a related clinical field.
Gather Employment Verification Documents Before Onboarding
Southern New Hampshire Health participates in E-Verify, so have your passport, visa documentation, and any OPT or EAD card ready before your start date. Delays in producing these documents can push back your clearance and complicate the employer's ability to complete the I-9 on time.

Does Southern New Hampshire Health sponsor H-1B visas for Medical Assistants?
Yes, Southern New Hampshire Health has sponsored H-1B visas for Medical Assistant roles. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every opening, so it's worth confirming during the interview process whether a specific position is approved for sponsorship. Roles in outpatient and primary care settings have historically been the most consistent source of sponsored placements at this organization.
Which visa types are commonly used for Medical Assistant roles at Southern New Hampshire Health?
The H-1B is the primary visa category used for Medical Assistant sponsorship at Southern New Hampshire Health. Candidates already holding work authorization through an H-4 EAD or an F-1 OPT extension may also be eligible to work in this role while a longer-term petition is being prepared. Immigrant visa pathways like the Green Card are possible but typically come after an established employment relationship.
What qualifications and experience does Southern New Hampshire Health expect for Medical Assistant roles?
Southern New Hampshire Health generally expects a completed Medical Assistant program from an accredited school, plus national certification through the AAMA (CMA) or AMT (RMA). Hands-on clinical experience in phlebotomy, vital signs, and electronic health records is commonly required. Candidates with experience in outpatient or ambulatory care settings are particularly competitive for roles that have historically carried sponsorship eligibility.
How do I apply for Medical Assistant jobs at Southern New Hampshire Health?
You can find and apply for Medical Assistant openings at Southern New Hampshire Health through Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions with confirmed H-1B sponsorship history so you can prioritize the right roles. Applications typically require a resume, proof of certification, and in some cases a cover letter. Moving quickly matters because clinical openings in high-demand departments fill faster than corporate roles.
How do I plan my timeline around the H-1B process for a Medical Assistant role?
H-1B registration opens each March for a lottery that determines who can file a full petition. If selected, your employer files the petition and the earliest you can begin work is October 1 of that year. This means securing your offer well before March gives you the best chance of being included in that cycle and avoids waiting an additional 12 months for the next registration window.
