This position is funded for a specific purpose. The Sponsored Term appointment is like a probationary appointment. The position and the appointment will expire upon loss or reduction of state or federal funding, or when special project or program for which the position was created has been completed.
Why does the job exist?
The position will work with the New Mexico Corrections Department Health Services Administration and the Reentry Specialists in all facilities to coordinate visits by the Managed Care Organizations (MCO's) at each location to ensure that inmates are connected with the MCO's and are assessed by the MCO's based on need. This position will devote a portion of time assigning and directly supervising work of at least two (2) permanent/Full Time employees, and will act upon leave requests, conduct annual performance evaluations, and recommend disciplinary actions. This position will conduct trainings for subordinate employees through career coaching, mentoring, and arranging for outside training opportunities when possible.

Minimum Qualification
Associate degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Statistics, Finance, or a related field and three (3) years of experience with a public assistance program, medical, healthcare, educational, or state facility working with policies and procedures, conducting analysis/research, providing or requesting information from the general public, working with communities, working on health or social service related matters, social work/case management, behavioral health, and/or health care. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
This position is designed safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing in accordance with all terms and conditions of Federal and State law, rules and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Pre-employment background check is required and conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
