Align your credentials to NCEES standards
STV hires for licensure-track roles, so having your PE license or EIT certification documented before applying signals you understand U.S. engineering practice. Foreign credentials evaluated through NCEES or a recognized evaluation service carry real weight in the screening process.
Target STV's infrastructure-heavy project teams
STV's structural work spans transit, aviation, and water infrastructure. Tailoring your application to one vertical, rather than applying broadly, shows relevant project experience and helps hiring managers place you on a specific team that has active headcount and sponsorship budget.
Clarify your visa category before the offer stage
STV sponsors multiple visa types for this role. Knowing whether you need H-1B cap registration, TN status as a Canadian or Mexican national, or OPT extension lets you have an informed conversation with the recruiter instead of leaving visa planning to HR.
Account for H-1B lottery timing in your job search
If H-1B is your path, USCIS registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. Timing your STV offer to align with this window, or confirming cap-exempt eligibility if you hold prior H-1B status, prevents a gap in work authorization.
Use Migrate Mate to filter STV structural openings
STV posts across multiple job boards, making it hard to track which openings are actively sponsoring. Search STV on Migrate Mate to surface current Structural Project Engineer roles confirmed for visa sponsorship, so you're applying to positions with actual authorization support.
Verify PERM timeline expectations for Green Card sponsorship
If your goal is permanent residence through EB-2 or EB-3, understand that PERM labor certification through DOL typically takes one to two years before an I-140 can be filed. Raising this timeline early in negotiations helps both sides set realistic expectations.

Find Structural Project Engineer at STV JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does STV sponsor H-1B visas for Structural Project Engineers?
Yes, STV sponsors H-1B visas for Structural Project Engineers. As a consulting and professional services firm with ongoing infrastructure projects, STV has an established process for H-1B petitions. If you're subject to the H-1B cap, you'll need to be selected in the annual USCIS lottery, with registration typically opening each March for an October 1 start date.
Which visa types does STV commonly sponsor for Structural Project Engineers?
STV sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for Structural Project Engineers. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals under USMCA, making it a faster alternative to H-1B for eligible applicants. OPT and CPT support early-career engineers still completing degrees or within their post-graduation authorization window.
How do I apply for Structural Project Engineer jobs at STV?
Start by identifying open Structural Project Engineer roles at STV that explicitly support visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters STV's current openings by visa type, saving you from applying to positions that won't support authorization. When you apply, highlight licensed or licensure-track credentials, relevant infrastructure project experience, and any specialty that maps to STV's active project verticals such as transit or aviation.
What qualifications does STV expect for Structural Project Engineer roles?
STV typically looks for a bachelor's or master's degree in civil or structural engineering, progress toward or attainment of PE licensure, and hands-on project delivery experience. Familiarity with AASHTO, AISC, or ACI standards is relevant depending on the project type. For international applicants, having your foreign degree evaluated through a recognized credential evaluation service strengthens your application.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Green Card sponsorship at STV?
Green Card sponsorship for Structural Project Engineers at STV typically follows the EB-2 or EB-3 pathway, which begins with PERM labor certification filed through DOL. That process alone can take one to two years, followed by I-140 petition filing with USCIS. If your priority date is current, adjustment of status or consular processing follows. Raising your long-term immigration goals with STV early in the offer process gives both sides time to plan around these timelines.
