Align your credentials to solar construction standards
Sunrun's Construction roles often require OSHA certifications and hands-on solar or electrical installation experience. Before applying, confirm your credentials translate to U.S. standards and obtain any OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 documentation that field supervisors expect to see.
Target roles tied to active expansion markets
Sunrun concentrates hiring in states with strong residential solar demand, including California, Texas, and Florida. Filtering your search by these markets increases your odds of landing a role that already has an established sponsorship workflow and regional hiring manager familiarity.
Clarify visa type eligibility before your first interview
Sunrun sponsors H-1B, TN, and OPT for Construction roles, but eligibility depends on your nationality and degree field. Confirming which category fits your background before the offer stage prevents delays when HR initiates the filing process with USCIS or DOL.
Request LCA timing details from your recruiter
Your H-1B sponsorship cannot begin until Sunrun files a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL. Ask the recruiter early whether the company uses an in-house immigration team or outside counsel, so you understand how long the pre-petition steps will take before your start date.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Construction roles at Sunrun
Sunrun's sponsored Construction openings are not always easy to identify through general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Sunrun's Construction positions that are open to visa sponsorship, so you're applying to roles where the pathway already exists.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
H-1B approval for Construction roles requires demonstrating that your position qualifies as a specialty occupation. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-recognized evaluator before Sunrun's immigration counsel submits the I-129 to USCIS.

Does Sunrun sponsor H-1B visas for Construction roles?
Yes, Sunrun sponsors H-1B visas for Construction positions. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which typically means it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific technical field. Construction roles focused on engineering, project management, or technical coordination are the most likely to meet that threshold. Your employer's immigration counsel will confirm eligibility before filing.
How do I apply for Construction jobs at Sunrun?
You can browse and apply for Sunrun's Construction openings directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles open to visa sponsorship. When you apply, tailor your resume to reflect solar installation experience, relevant certifications like OSHA credentials, and any project management or field supervision background that matches the specific posting.
Which visa types does Sunrun commonly use for Construction professionals?
Sunrun has sponsored H-1B, EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for Construction roles. OPT and CPT are practical entry points for recent graduates in engineering or construction management. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. H-1B and the EB series are the most common long-term pathways for ongoing employment and permanent residency.
What qualifications does Sunrun expect for sponsored Construction roles?
Sunrun's Construction positions generally require a background in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related technical discipline. Field-facing roles often require OSHA certification and demonstrable hands-on experience with residential or commercial solar installation. Project coordination roles lean toward candidates with formal degree credentials, which also strengthens the specialty occupation argument for H-1B petitions filed with USCIS.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Sunrun Construction role?
If you're targeting an H-1B, the annual lottery cap means registrations open in March for an October 1 start date, so align your offer timeline accordingly. OPT and CPT can bridge the gap if you're a current F-1 student. TN status for Canadians and Mexicans can be obtained at a port of entry with no advance filing, making it one of the faster options for eligible candidates.
