Frame your background around homeowner lifecycle support
Sunrun's Customer Success roles center on post-install onboarding, billing disputes, and system performance inquiries. Tailor your resume to show experience managing long-term customer relationships through complex technical or service issues, not just transactional support.
Search Sunrun's Customer Success openings on Migrate Mate
Customer Success roles at Sunrun span installation support, retention, and solar service advisory functions. Use Migrate Mate to filter open positions by visa type so you're only applying to roles where Sunrun has confirmed it will sponsor.
Prepare for solar industry onboarding knowledge gaps
Sunrun interviewers often assess whether candidates can quickly learn residential solar systems, net metering, and utility interconnection processes. Building baseline familiarity with these concepts before your interview strengthens your case, especially if your background is outside construction or real estate.
Clarify OPT authorization timing with your university DSO early
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your employment start date aligns with your OPT authorization window before accepting an offer. Sunrun's hiring timelines for Customer Success roles can vary by region, and a misaligned start date can complicate E-Verify enrollment.
Request H-1B filing confirmation before your start date
Once Sunrun extends an offer, ask HR to confirm the I-129 petition timeline and whether premium processing is being used. USCIS standard processing can run several months, so knowing the filing schedule protects you from gaps in work authorization.

Does Sunrun sponsor H-1B visas for Customer Success?
Yes, Sunrun sponsors H-1B visas for Customer Success roles. The company files H-1B petitions for qualifying positions through USCIS, including the annual April lottery for cap-subject cases. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a transfer petition can often move faster than a new cap-subject filing, which is worth clarifying with Sunrun's HR team during the offer stage.
How do I apply for Customer Success jobs at Sunrun?
Applications go through Sunrun's careers portal, where Customer Success roles are listed by region and function. Before applying, confirm the role explicitly supports visa sponsorship, since not every open position does. Migrate Mate filters Sunrun's Customer Success listings by visa type, so you can identify sponsorship-confirmed roles without sorting through postings manually.
Which visa types does Sunrun commonly use for Customer Success hires?
Sunrun sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT candidates for Customer Success positions, as well as Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The right visa type depends on your citizenship, degree field, and whether you're seeking a temporary or permanent path.
What qualifications does Sunrun expect for Customer Success roles?
Sunrun's Customer Success positions typically require experience managing post-sale or post-install customer relationships, comfort with CRM platforms, and the ability to explain technical service issues to non-technical homeowners. Roles tied to solar system monitoring or retention often expect familiarity with utility billing, net metering, or energy products, though direct solar experience isn't always required at the entry level.
How long does visa sponsorship take for a Sunrun Customer Success offer?
Timeline depends on the visa category. F-1 OPT authorization is driven by your school's DSO and typically takes two to three weeks after the job start date is confirmed. H-1B transfers for candidates already in status can be filed with USCIS and allow work to begin once the receipt notice is issued. New H-1B cap-subject petitions follow the April lottery cycle, with an October 1 start date if selected.
