Focus on operations and supply chain roles
Sysco's sponsorship activity is concentrated in operational and technical functions that support its distribution network. Targeting roles in supply chain management, logistics, and operations gives you the strongest alignment with where the company has historically supported international workers.
Understand that Sysco sponsors Green Cards, not H-1Bs
Sysco's sponsorship track record is built around permanent residency pathways like EB-2 and EB-3, not H-1B transfers. If you're already authorized to work in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or TN status, you're better positioned to pursue a long-term sponsorship arrangement here.
Leverage F-1 OPT or CPT to get a foot in the door
Sysco accepts F-1 OPT and CPT candidates, which means student visa holders can join before committing to a Green Card timeline. Starting on OPT gives you time to demonstrate value and build the internal relationships that make Green Card sponsorship conversations more realistic.
Consider TN status if you're Canadian or Mexican
Sysco sponsors TN visas, making it accessible to Canadian and Mexican professionals in qualifying occupations like management analysts, accountants, or engineers. TN status is employer-specific, so securing a written job offer with a qualifying role description is critical before you apply.
Explore roles across Sysco's regional distribution footprint
Sysco operates distribution centers and regional offices across the U.S., which broadens where sponsorship opportunities may exist. Searching by location as well as role type increases your chances of finding a fit. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history.
Align your background with Sysco's core business needs
Sysco is a food and beverage distribution company, not a tech firm. Candidates with backgrounds in food safety, procurement, logistics technology, or enterprise operations management are the strongest fit for the roles where Sysco has shown willingness to support international sponsorship.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sysco sponsor H-1B visas?
Sysco does not have a notable track record of sponsoring H-1B visas. The company's international sponsorship activity is concentrated on permanent residency pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, as well as F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas. If you need H-1B visa sponsorship specifically, Sysco is unlikely to be a strong match.
What visa types does Sysco sponsor?
Sysco sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for eligible employees, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for student visa holders entering the workforce. The company also sponsors TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional roles. This makes Sysco most accessible to candidates who are already work-authorized or pursuing a long-term permanent residency path.
Which departments or roles at Sysco are most likely to offer visa sponsorship?
Sysco's sponsorship activity is most closely tied to its core distribution and operations functions. Roles in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, and food safety management tend to align best with the company's business needs and its history of supporting international workers. Corporate functions such as finance and operations analysis may also be relevant depending on the position.
How do I find visa-sponsored job openings at Sysco?
The most reliable approach is to search for Sysco roles on Migrate Mate, which aggregates and verifies employer sponsorship history so you can confirm a company's track record before applying. From there, focus your search on operations, supply chain, and distribution roles, and check whether the posting explicitly mentions visa sponsorship or work authorization support.
How do I approach the application process at Sysco as an international candidate?
Start by identifying roles that match your background in food and beverage distribution, logistics, or operations. If you're on F-1 OPT or TN status, highlight your current work authorization upfront so hiring managers understand your immediate availability. For Green Card sponsorship, that conversation typically happens after an offer is extended, once you've demonstrated your value to the team.
