Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Warehouse Jobs at Sysco Jobs
Get your forklift certification before applying
Sysco warehouse roles frequently require forklift or powered industrial truck certification. Having an OSHA-recognized certification before you apply removes a common hiring obstacle and signals you're ready to work from day one.
Target distribution centers near university cities
Sysco's larger regional distribution centers tend to have more HR infrastructure for processing OPT and TN paperwork. Facilities near major metros or university corridors are more accustomed to sponsoring international hires than smaller depot locations.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before accepting an offer
Sysco operates as a federal contractor in some capacities, which affects I-9 compliance requirements. Before you sign anything, confirm the specific hiring location is enrolled in E-Verify so your work authorization can be verified without delays on your start date.
Align your TN application with your degree field
Canadian and Mexican nationals applying under TN status for warehouse supervisor or logistics roles need a qualifying occupation and matching degree. Industrial engineering and management degrees are the most defensible TN categories for operations-heavy warehouse positions at a food distribution company like Sysco.
Ask HR explicitly about PERM sponsorship timelines
If you're targeting a Green Card through EB-2 or EB-3, the PERM labor certification process requires Sysco to run a full recruitment cycle before filing. Ask the hiring manager or HR directly whether the specific role and location have a history of supporting permanent residency sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Sysco warehouse roles
Sysco posts warehouse openings across dozens of distribution centers simultaneously, and not all listings signal visa sponsorship clearly. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Sysco warehouse jobs that are open to sponsored candidates, so you're not spending time on roles that won't work for your visa status.

Find Warehouse at Sysco JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sysco sponsor H-1B visas for Warehouse roles?
H-1B sponsorship for warehouse roles at Sysco is uncommon because most warehouse positions don't meet USCIS's specialty occupation requirement, which demands a role where a bachelor's degree in a specific field is the industry standard. Warehouse supervisor or supply chain analyst roles with a degree requirement are more likely candidates, but standard picking, packing, or receiving roles typically don't qualify.
Which visa types are most commonly used for Warehouse roles at Sysco?
F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas are the most practical pathways for warehouse roles at Sysco. OPT and CPT work well for students in supply chain, logistics, or industrial engineering programs. TN status suits Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. For longer-term sponsorship, Sysco has supported EB-3 Green Card petitions for operations roles through the PERM process.
How do I apply for Warehouse jobs at Sysco?
You can apply directly through Sysco's careers portal, but listings don't always make sponsorship eligibility obvious. Use Migrate Mate to browse Sysco warehouse openings filtered for international candidates, then apply through the employer's official site. When you reach the offer stage, confirm with HR which visa types the specific facility is prepared to support before accepting.
What qualifications does Sysco expect for sponsored Warehouse positions?
Sysco generally looks for candidates with prior warehouse, distribution center, or logistics experience. Forklift certification, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and physical stamina for cold storage environments are common requirements. For roles that support TN or OPT sponsorship, a degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, or a related field strengthens your application considerably.
How do I time my application around my OPT or CPT authorization?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply to Sysco warehouse roles at least two to three months before your OPT end date to leave room for onboarding and any STEM OPT extension filing if your degree qualifies. For CPT, your authorization must be tied to an academic requirement, so coordinate with your DSO before accepting any offer to confirm the employment terms satisfy your program's CPT eligibility.
