Align your credentials to U.S. procurement standards
Sysco's procurement roles typically require demonstrated experience with large-scale supplier contracts or food commodity sourcing. If your degree is from outside the U.S., confirm it evaluates to a four-year U.S. bachelor's equivalent before applying, since this directly affects EB-2 and EB-3 eligibility.
Target Sysco's category management and sourcing openings
Sysco regularly hires for category managers and strategic sourcing analysts who work with food and beverage suppliers. These roles sit within procurement's core sponsorship footprint. Focus your applications on positions tied to food distribution or supplier development rather than general operations roles.
Search Sysco's open procurement roles on Migrate Mate
Sysco posts procurement openings across corporate and regional divisions, and roles disappear quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter active Sysco procurement positions by visa sponsorship type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is confirmed, not assumed.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Sysco sponsors both temporary work visas and permanent residence through PERM-based Green Card pathways. During offer negotiations, ask specifically whether the role includes EB-2 or EB-3 PERM sponsorship, not just initial work authorization, since these require separate employer commitment and have multi-year timelines.
Understand TN eligibility if you're Canadian or Mexican
Procurement analyst roles can qualify under the TN visa category if your job duties align with the economist or management consultant classifications. TN status doesn't require a DOL labor certification and can be processed at the border, making it a faster path than H-1B for eligible candidates.
Start OPT early for Sysco's procurement internship pipeline
Sysco runs CPT and OPT placements in procurement through its supply chain and sourcing programs. File your OPT application with USCIS at least 90 days before your program end date so authorization starts before graduation and lines up with Sysco's typical offer timelines.

Find Procurement at Sysco JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sysco sponsor H-1B visas for Procurement roles?
Sysco's primary sponsorship for Procurement roles centers on Green Card pathways, including EB-2 and EB-3 through PERM labor certification, along with F-1 OPT and CPT for students. H-1B sponsorship is less consistently documented for this function specifically, so you should confirm directly with the hiring team during the offer process whether H-1B is available for your target role.
How do I apply for Procurement jobs at Sysco?
Applications go through Sysco's careers portal, where procurement roles are listed under supply chain and sourcing categories. To filter specifically for roles where visa sponsorship has been used before, browse Sysco's open procurement positions on Migrate Mate, which surfaces verified sponsorship history by role type. Tailor your resume to highlight supplier management, category strategy, or food distribution experience.
Which visa types are commonly used for Procurement roles at Sysco?
Sysco's documented sponsorship for Procurement roles includes EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term hires, and F-1 OPT and CPT placements for students entering through sourcing or supply chain programs. TN visas are also viable for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose procurement duties align with DOL-recognized TN occupational categories.
What qualifications does Sysco expect for sponsored Procurement positions?
Sysco's procurement team works across food commodity sourcing, supplier contracts, and distribution logistics, so relevant experience in food and beverage supply chains strengthens your application significantly. A bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or a related field is the baseline. Roles at the senior or category manager level typically expect several years of direct supplier negotiation or category ownership experience.
How do I plan around the PERM timeline for a Sysco Procurement role?
PERM labor certification, which Sysco uses for EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship, involves DOL review that currently takes well over a year before USCIS even begins adjudicating the I-140 petition. If your goal is permanent residence, start the conversation about PERM eligibility as early as your first year in the role. Indian and Chinese nationals face significantly longer waits due to priority date backlogs.
