Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Business Development Jobs at Thomson Reuters Jobs
Frame your BD experience around software sales
Thomson Reuters prioritizes Business Development candidates who can articulate experience selling or growing enterprise software. Reframe your resume around SaaS deal cycles, ARR growth, or platform expansion rather than generic relationship management.
Target roles tied to legal or tax verticals
Thomson Reuters Business Development hiring concentrates in its legal, tax, and compliance divisions. Applying to roles aligned with these verticals signals domain fit and increases your odds of reaching hiring managers with active sponsorship budgets.
Clarify sponsorship willingness before final-round interviews
Bring up visa sponsorship before the offer stage, not after. Ask your recruiter directly whether the specific Business Development role has been approved for H-1B support so you are not negotiating sponsorship after verbal acceptance.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Business Development roles
Searching broad job boards makes it hard to filter for roles where sponsorship is genuinely on the table. Migrate Mate lets you browse Thomson Reuters Business Development openings specifically verified for visa sponsorship, saving you from dead-end applications.
Understand what PERM labor certification means for your timeline
If Thomson Reuters initiates an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card for you, the DOL PERM process must be completed before USCIS can approve your immigrant petition. PERM recruitment audits can add six to twelve months, so negotiate your role with that timeline in mind.

Find Business Development at Thomson Reuters JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Thomson Reuters sponsor H-1B visas for Business Development roles?
Yes, Thomson Reuters sponsors H-1B visas for Business Development positions, though sponsorship is determined role by role rather than as a blanket policy. Roles tied to the company's legal, tax, and compliance software divisions are most likely to receive sponsorship approval. Confirm sponsorship availability with your recruiter before advancing to final-round interviews.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Thomson Reuters?
You can apply directly through the Thomson Reuters careers portal or browse verified sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa support is confirmed. When applying, tailor your materials to Thomson Reuters' enterprise software focus, specifically its legal, tax, and risk products, and address sponsorship requirements early in the recruiter screening call.
Which visa types are commonly used for Business Development roles at Thomson Reuters?
H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant visa for Business Development hires at Thomson Reuters. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, the company has used EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based Green Card pathways, which require a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition.
What qualifications does Thomson Reuters look for in Business Development candidates seeking sponsorship?
Thomson Reuters typically looks for candidates with experience in enterprise software sales, partnerships, or market expansion, particularly within legal, tax, or compliance sectors. A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field usually satisfies the H-1B specialty occupation requirement. Demonstrated track record with SaaS deal structures or platform growth strengthens both your candidacy and the sponsorship case.
How do I plan my timeline if Thomson Reuters sponsors my H-1B for a Business Development role?
USCIS H-1B registration opens in March, with approved petitions taking effect October 1. If you receive an offer before registration opens, your start date will likely be capped at October 1 unless you are transferring an existing H-1B. If you are on OPT or a STEM extension, coordinate your graduation and employment authorization end dates with your recruiter to ensure continuous work authorization during the filing window.
