Frame your PMP around field operations
United Rentals prioritizes Project Managers who can coordinate equipment delivery, site logistics, and multi-branch workflows. Before applying, tailor your resume to show hands-on operational experience, not just office-based project coordination.
Target branches near major construction corridors
United Rentals staffs Project Managers most heavily near active infrastructure and commercial construction markets. Applying to roles in high-activity regions increases your odds of landing a position that genuinely needs to be filled quickly.
Understand how OPT cap-gap affects your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT and an H-1B petition is filed on your behalf before OPT expires, cap-gap protection lets you keep working through September 30. Confirm this timeline with your DSO early so your start date aligns with what United Rentals can accommodate.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Project Manager roles
Not every United Rentals Project Manager posting is flagged as visa-friendly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse confirmed sponsorship-eligible openings at United Rentals filtered by role, so you're applying where sponsorship is actually on the table.
Prepare for PERM documentation early if targeting Green Card
If United Rentals initiates an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card for you, the PERM labor certification process requires detailed records of your qualifications matching the job description. Keep degree transcripts, performance reviews, and employment verification documents organized from day one.

Find Project Manager at United Rentals JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does United Rentals sponsor H-1B visas for Project Managers?
Yes, United Rentals has sponsored H-1B visas for Project Manager roles. Project management positions that require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, construction management, or business administration generally meet the specialty occupation threshold USCIS uses to evaluate H-1B eligibility. Your specific offer letter and job duties will determine whether the role qualifies.
How do I apply for Project Manager jobs at United Rentals?
Applications go through United Rentals' careers portal, but not every listing clearly signals visa sponsorship availability. Migrate Mate filters Project Manager openings at United Rentals to surface roles where sponsorship is confirmed, saving you time you'd otherwise spend on dead-end applications. Once you identify a role, apply directly through the company portal and flag your visa status early in the recruiter screening call.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Manager roles at United Rentals?
H-1B is the most common long-term work visa for Project Manager hires requiring employer sponsorship. TN status is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role falls under an eligible USMCA category such as engineer or management consultant. F-1 OPT and CPT cover shorter-term work authorization for recent graduates. For permanent residence, United Rentals has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card filings for qualifying employees.
What qualifications does United Rentals expect for sponsored Project Manager roles?
Most Project Manager openings at United Rentals expect a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, business, or a closely related field. Relevant certifications such as PMP strengthen your application. United Rentals operates a heavy equipment and fleet environment, so experience managing field operations, vendor coordination, or construction site logistics carries more weight than purely office-based project management backgrounds.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a United Rentals Project Manager offer?
Timeline depends on your visa category. H-1B standard processing through USCIS runs six to eight months from petition filing, with premium processing available to reduce that to roughly 15 business days. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border on the day of travel with the right documentation. If United Rentals pursues PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, the full EB-2 or EB-3 process typically takes one to three years depending on your country of birth and current USCIS backlogs.
