Frame your rental industry credentials upfront
Sales Manager roles at United Rentals prioritize experience with equipment, contractor accounts, or B2B field sales. Before applying, document any exposure to construction, industrial, or fleet rental verticals so your resume signals immediate fit.
Target branch-level openings over corporate postings
United Rentals hires Sales Managers at the branch and regional level across dozens of markets. Applications tied to a specific territory show geographic commitment, which matters more to hiring managers than a general expression of interest in the company.
Address the specialty occupation requirement directly
USCIS requires H-1B petitions to demonstrate the role qualifies as a specialty occupation. For Sales Manager positions, ground your application in the technical or industry-specific knowledge the job requires, not just revenue targets or team management duties.
Negotiate offer timing around USCIS filing windows
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed in April for an October 1 start. If your offer comes outside that window, ask whether United Rentals can structure an interim arrangement using your current status to bridge the gap.
Use Migrate Mate to find open roles with sponsorship history
Filtering for Sales Manager openings at companies with a verified sponsorship record saves weeks of guesswork. Migrate Mate surfaces United Rentals positions alongside their sponsorship track record so you can prioritize applications with the strongest likelihood of support.

Find Sales Manager at United Rentals JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does United Rentals sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Managers?
Yes, United Rentals has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Sales Manager roles. Sponsorship decisions are made at the hiring level and depend on the candidate's qualifications and the specific position. Roles that require technical knowledge of equipment categories or contractor account management tend to have the clearest path to H-1B approval under the specialty occupation standard.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Manager roles at United Rentals?
United Rentals has sponsored H-1B visas for longer-term hires and has supported F-1 OPT candidates in sales roles that transition to full sponsorship. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. Candidates pursuing a Green Card pathway may eventually be considered for EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship after establishing a track record in the role.
How do I apply for Sales Manager jobs at United Rentals?
Applications go through United Rentals' careers portal, where postings are organized by region and branch. Filtering by territory and role level gives you a clearer picture of which positions are actively hiring. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect equipment or industrial sales experience. Migrate Mate also lists open United Rentals Sales Manager roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility.
What qualifications and experience does United Rentals expect for Sales Manager candidates?
United Rentals typically looks for candidates with B2B sales experience in construction, industrial, or equipment-adjacent industries. A bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field strengthens H-1B eligibility. Demonstrated ability to manage contractor or fleet accounts, grow territory revenue, and coordinate with branch operations teams is consistently prioritized across posted openings.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Sales Manager role at United Rentals?
If you're cap-subject and need an H-1B, your offer needs to be in place before the April registration window so United Rentals can file on your behalf. USCIS selection results typically come in late March or early April, with an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your expiration date and discuss bridging options with the recruiter before the offer stage.
