Frame your credentials around specialty occupation standards
Consulting roles must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, meaning your degree field needs to directly relate to the work. A business analysis or management consulting role supported by a degree in finance, engineering, or computer science is a stronger case than a generalist background.
Target Westwood's project-based consulting pipeline
Westwood staffs consultants across client engagements, so roles can open quickly and fill fast. Search for active requisitions by function, not just title, since postings may list the consulting specialty rather than the generic consultant label.
Browse open Consultant roles using Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate surfaces visa-sponsoring employers with open roles filtered by visa type. Use it to find active Consultant postings at Westwood and confirm current sponsorship activity before you apply, so you're not guessing at eligibility.
Confirm OPT or CPT alignment before your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT, your employment start date must fall within your authorized period and the role must match your degree field. Westwood works with F-1 candidates, but the timing between offer acceptance and your OPT authorization window needs to sync precisely to avoid a gap.
Ask about the H-1B cap timeline during the offer stage
H-1B registration opens in March for an October 1 start. If you receive an offer outside that window, ask Westwood whether they can structure a cap-exempt arrangement or hold the role until the next filing cycle. Many consulting firms have navigated this before and have a process.
Understand how PERM affects longer-term sponsorship conversations
If Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 is part of your longer-term plan, PERM labor certification requires the employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker is available. Raising this early with Westwood's HR team helps you understand their internal timeline and whether the role is structured to support it.

Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for Consultants?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for Consultant roles. The company works across multiple visa types for this function, and H-1B is one of the primary pathways for full-time consulting positions. If you're applying, confirm the specific role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, as the degree-to-job-duty relationship will be central to your petition.
How do I apply for Consultant jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
You can browse and apply for Consultant openings at Westwood Professional Services through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can identify positions actively open to international candidates. Apply with a resume tailored to the consulting engagement type and make your visa status and work authorization timeline clear in your application or early in outreach.
Which visa types does Westwood Professional Services commonly use for Consultant roles?
Westwood Professional Services sponsors Consultant roles across several visa categories, including H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways such as EB-2 and EB-3. The right visa for you depends on your nationality, degree, and current status. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories, while H-1B is the most common route for others.
What qualifications are expected for Consultant roles at Westwood Professional Services?
Westwood's Consultant roles in the professional services space typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a field directly related to the consulting function, such as business, finance, engineering, or information technology. Relevant project experience, client-facing work, or industry-specific knowledge strengthens your application. For H-1B sponsorship, the degree-to-role match is a USCIS requirement, not just a hiring preference.
How do timelines work when Westwood Professional Services sponsors a Consultant for an H-1B?
H-1B petitions for cap-subject cases are filed after the March lottery registration. If selected, USCIS begins processing for an October 1 start date. Premium processing is available and reduces USCIS adjudication to 15 business days. If you're currently on F-1 OPT, Westwood can begin your employment before October 1, with the H-1B activating on that date under the cap-gap rule if your OPT expires in between.
