Enterprise Automation Developer
Westwood Professional Services is looking for an Enterprise Automation Developer to design, build, and support the custom automation that keeps our business systems running. This role sits on the Enterprise Applications team and is hands-on: you'll write T-SQL against our ERP database, develop RPA workflows in UiPath, build .NET applications and services, script in PowerShell, build AI-assisted workflows and own the day-to-day support of the automations you and the team put into production.
This is a development role with a real operations component. Your time splits roughly evenly across three areas: developing new automation and integration work, supporting the automations already in production, and broader systems work; upgrades, acquisition onboarding, and process improvement alongside business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Development (40%)
- Design and build custom automation solutions using UiPath, .NET, PowerShell, and T-SQL against Deltek Vantagepoint and related business systems.
- Develop stored procedures, triggers, and SQL frameworks following team standards, including preview-first execution, explicit transaction handling, and consistent naming conventions.
- Build, deploy, and maintain UiPath automations for processes where RPA is the appropriate solution, including UI-driven workflows, application interaction, and scheduled unattended jobs.
- Develop and maintain integrations between systems, including ERP, HRIS, and payroll systems, using REST APIs, scheduled jobs, and file-based processes.
- Develop PowerShell automations for job orchestration, file movement, unattended scheduled tasks, REST API calls, and server-side processes. PowerShell scripts should be developed and maintained as production code using the same standards applied to C# and SQL development.
- Instrument applications with telemetry and logging so issues can be identified and addressed before they impact users.
Production Support (30%)
- Provide day-to-day support for automations in production, including monitoring scheduled jobs and UiPath bots, investigating failures, and resolving data issues.
- Triage and respond to support tickets related to automation and integration issues.
- Identify issues at the database level by analyzing read replicas and queries prior to modifying the production environment.
- Document automations, runbooks, and troubleshooting procedures so production support does not depend on tribal knowledge.
Collaboration, Upgrades & Improvement (30%)
- Support upgrades of core business systems, including ERP version upgrades, integration and platform updates, regression testing of customizations, validation of stored procedures, reports, and integrations following upgrades, and remediation of issues that arise.
- Work directly with accounting, HR, and operations stakeholders to identify manual processes that may benefit from automation.
- Recommend the appropriate technology for each automation request, including native ERP functionality, T-SQL, custom .NET development, UiPath, or AI-assisted solutions, and explain the tradeoffs between approaches.
- Contribute to team development standards, code reviews, and shared libraries.
- Assist with acquisition onboarding as needed, including extracting and migrating data from acquired firms’ legacy accounting and project systems into Vantagepoint.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining automations in UiPath, including Studio, Orchestrator, and attended or unattended robots, or experience with a comparable RPA platform with willingness to work in UiPath.
- 3+ years of professional development experience with .NET and T-SQL.
- Strong SQL Server skills, including stored procedures, triggers, transaction handling, and performance analysis.
- Strong PowerShell scripting skills, including functions and modules, error handling, REST API calls, file and process automation, and unattended or scheduled execution.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience supporting production systems, including debugging live issues, reading logs, and working incidents through resolution.
- Ability to work directly with non-technical business stakeholders and translate process problems into effective technical solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional experience with UiPath, including Document Understanding and API-based automation.
- Strong T-SQL and .NET development experience.
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or another project-based ERP, such as Deltek Vision, Unanet, or BST.
- Experience with data migration or ETL, including extracting, staging, and loading data.
- Experience working with LLM APIs such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI, including prompt design, structured outputs, and document intelligence workflows.

Align Your Resume to Client-Facing Roles
Consulting firms like Westwood staff Software Engineers on client projects, so your resume should reflect project-based delivery, not just internal product work. Highlight technologies and domains that map to enterprise consulting engagements.
Verify Your OPT Timeline Before Applying
If you're on F-1 OPT, calculate how many months remain before you apply. Westwood's consulting hiring cycles can run eight to twelve weeks, and starting too late leaves no buffer for employer onboarding before your authorization expires.
Ask Directly About H-1B Cap-Subject Timing
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. When you reach the offer stage, confirm with your recruiter whether Westwood plans to file in the upcoming registration window so you can plan accordingly.
Search Verified Sponsoring Roles on Migrate Mate
Filter Software Engineer openings by visa type on Migrate Mate to surface roles at Westwood Professional Services that explicitly support sponsorship. This saves time compared to screening unfiltered job boards where sponsorship eligibility is unclear.
Understand How PERM Fits Your Long-Term Path
Consulting employers supporting EB-2 or EB-3 Green Cards must complete PERM labor certification through DOL before filing the immigrant petition. Ask during offer negotiations whether Westwood initiates PERM after a defined period of employment.
Prepare Credentials That Support Specialty Occupation Classification
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations. For Software Engineer positions at a consulting firm, have transcripts, degree equivalency evaluations if applicable, and documentation showing your degree field directly relates to the role's technical requirements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. As a consulting firm placing engineers on client engagements, they have experience navigating the H-1B process, including cap-subject filings and transfers. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, Westwood can file an H-1B transfer, which lets you start working as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
You can browse and apply for Software Engineer openings at Westwood Professional Services directly through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. When applying, clearly indicate your current visa status and work authorization timeline in your application or initial recruiter conversation to avoid delays later in the process.
Which visa types does Westwood Professional Services commonly use for Software Engineers?
Westwood Professional Services sponsors multiple visa categories for Software Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories. The right visa depends on your nationality, educational background, and where you are in your immigration journey. TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying technical roles without a lottery.
What qualifications does Westwood Professional Services expect from Software Engineer candidates?
Westwood typically looks for Software Engineers with a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. Because they operate in a consulting environment, practical experience delivering solutions for enterprise clients carries significant weight. For H-1B sponsorship specifically, USCIS requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, so your degree must be directly relevant to the job's technical requirements.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Software Engineer offer at Westwood Professional Services?
Timeline depends on your visa type. An H-1B transfer can allow you to start within days of USCIS receiving the petition. A cap-subject H-1B filing requires registration in March with an October 1 start date if selected. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through DOL and USCIS typically takes one to three years or longer depending on your country of birth and priority date backlog.
