Align Your Degree to Specialty Occupation Standards
Consulting roles at Westwood must qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS criteria, meaning your degree field needs a direct connection to the work. A business, finance, or STEM degree tied to your specific Graduate function strengthens that case significantly.
Target Westwood Practice Areas Strategically
Westwood Professional Services staffs Graduates across multiple consulting verticals. Research which practice areas align with your academic background before applying, since the specialty occupation argument is easier to make when your degree maps cleanly to a defined service line.
Time Your OPT Application Around Your Start Date
F-1 OPT authorization from USCIS takes up to 90 days to process. If you're targeting a Graduate role at Westwood, file your OPT application at least three months before your intended start date to avoid a gap between your program end date and your first day.
Ask Directly About H-1B Sponsorship Timing
During the offer stage, confirm whether Westwood will file your H-1B in the next cap season and whether they cover premium processing. The H-1B lottery opens in March for an October 1 start, so offers extended after April require careful planning around your current status.
Verify Your Employer's E-Verify Enrollment Before Accepting
CPT and OPT employment requires E-Verify participation for STEM extension eligibility. Confirm that Westwood Professional Services is enrolled in E-Verify before accepting any Graduate offer, since STEM OPT extensions require this from your employer on day one of the extension period.
Browse Open Graduate Roles Through Migrate Mate
Finding employers with confirmed sponsorship history saves time in a competitive Graduate job market. Use Migrate Mate to filter for open Graduate positions at Westwood Professional Services and identify roles explicitly open to international candidates requiring visa support.

Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for Graduates?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for Graduate-level roles. Consulting and professional services positions typically qualify as specialty occupations under USCIS standards, provided your degree field connects directly to the work you'll be doing. If you're transitioning off OPT, raise H-1B sponsorship explicitly during the offer stage so there's clarity on timing before you accept.
How do I apply for Graduate jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
You can find open Graduate positions at Westwood Professional Services through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship availability. Apply directly through Westwood's careers page once you've identified a suitable opening. Tailor your application to the specific practice area you're targeting, and be clear about your visa status and any authorization timelines in your cover materials.
Which visa types does Westwood Professional Services commonly use for Graduate roles?
Westwood Professional Services supports a range of visa types for Graduate hires, including F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, H-1B, TN, J-1, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways. For recent graduates, OPT is typically the first step, with H-1B sponsorship following if you remain with the firm. Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying roles may also pursue TN status.
What qualifications does Westwood Professional Services expect for Graduate roles?
Graduate roles at Westwood Professional Services in consulting and professional services typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as business, finance, economics, or a STEM discipline. Strong analytical skills and the ability to support client-facing projects matter as much as academic credentials. For H-1B eligibility specifically, your degree must relate directly to the duties of the role you're hired into.
How do I handle the timeline between graduation and starting at Westwood?
If you're on F-1 OPT, USCIS recommends filing your EAD application up to 90 days before your program end date, and processing can take up to 90 days. Coordinate your expected start date with Westwood's HR team early. If your OPT authorization is delayed, many consulting employers can adjust onboarding timelines, but you need to flag any potential gaps before your first day, not after.
