Align your credentials to consulting delivery
Westwood operates in professional services, so frame your engineering leadership experience around client-facing delivery, not just internal product teams. Hiring managers want evidence you've managed cross-functional technical work under client contracts or statements of work.
Ask directly about their H-1B filing process
During offer negotiations, ask whether Westwood uses in-house immigration counsel or outside firms. Consulting firms often file H-1B petitions for multiple roles simultaneously, so understanding their internal timeline helps you plan your start date and project transitions.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
Software Engineering Manager roles at consulting firms typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved agency before your interview process begins.
Target open roles across practice areas
Westwood posts Software Engineering Manager openings across multiple consulting verticals. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track active roles by visa type, so you can focus applications on positions already flagged for sponsorship rather than cold-applying across the board.
Understand how PERM affects your long-term timeline
If Westwood sponsors you for an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card, the PERM labor certification process requires DOL to confirm no qualified U.S. workers were available. Start that conversation early, since PERM timelines routinely run twelve months or longer before the I-140 stage.

Does Westwood Professional Services sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineering Managers?
Yes, Westwood Professional Services sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineering Manager roles. As a consulting and professional services firm, they have an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for technical leadership positions. If you're already on H-1B with another employer, a transfer petition can be filed once you have a signed offer, and you can begin work as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
How do I apply for Software Engineering Manager jobs at Westwood Professional Services?
You can browse and apply for open Software Engineering Manager positions at Westwood Professional Services through Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility. When applying, tailor your resume to reflect technical delivery leadership in consulting or client-services environments, since that context is directly relevant to how Westwood structures these roles.
Which visa types does Westwood Professional Services commonly use for Software Engineering Manager roles?
Westwood sponsors several visa categories for this role, including H-1B for specialty occupation workers, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professions, F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning from university programs, J-1 for exchange visitors, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for candidates pursuing permanent residence. The right pathway depends on your nationality, education, and how long you've been in the U.S.
What qualifications does Westwood Professional Services expect for Software Engineering Manager candidates?
Westwood typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field, combined with demonstrated experience managing engineering teams in a client-facing or consulting environment. Experience with delivery across multiple concurrent projects, stakeholder communication, and technical roadmap ownership is especially relevant given their professional services model.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Software Engineering Manager at Westwood Professional Services?
Timeline varies by visa type. H-1B standard processing runs three to six months, with premium processing available from USCIS for a faster decision. TN status for Canadian nationals can be obtained at the border on the same day with proper documentation. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card paths require PERM labor certification through DOL, which typically adds twelve months or more before the immigrant petition stage.
