Compliance Officer Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a compliance officer in New Hampshire?
Most compliance officers in New Hampshire enter the field with a bachelor's degree in business, finance, law, or a related discipline, then build specialization through industry-recognized credentials. The Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional designation and the Certified in Healthcare Compliance credential are the most commonly requested by New Hampshire employers. There is no state-issued license specific to the compliance officer role, so credentials, relevant work experience, and demonstrated knowledge of applicable regulations carry the most weight in hiring.
How much do compliance officers make in New Hampshire?
Compliance officers in New Hampshire earn a median of about $82,800 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $54,980 for the lowest 10% to over $123,020 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire compliance officers in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire compliance officer roles are posted by Fidelity Investments, Lonza, and Amphenol and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Healthcare systems, regional banks, and insurance carriers represent the most consistent sources of ongoing compliance hiring across the state.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most compliance officer jobs?
Merrimack, Manchester, and Portsmouth account for the largest share of compliance officer openings in New Hampshire. Manchester and Concord dominate because they host the state's largest hospital systems, financial institutions, and state government offices, while Nashua draws compliance hiring through its concentration of technology, insurance, and corporate operations firms along the Massachusetts border.
Are there remote compliance officer jobs in New Hampshire?
Yes, and more than most fields. Compliance work is largely desk-based and documentation-driven, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 44% of compliance officer openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader trends in financial and healthcare compliance. Policy review, regulatory reporting, and training development roles are the most likely to be fully remote.
How can I get hired as a compliance officer in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into compliance from an adjacent role such as paralegal, internal auditor, or healthcare billing specialist, where you already touch regulatory requirements. Large New Hampshire employers like Dartmouth Health and Citizens Financial Group post compliance analyst and compliance coordinator openings that are designed for early-career candidates. Earning a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional certificate or completing a HIPAA privacy training program before applying gives candidates a measurable edge when their work history is limited.
