Position Summary

American Prime University is seeking qualified part-time Adjunct Professors to join its growing academic team in the areas of Business Administration and Computer Science.

The University is developing Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degree programs and is seeking experienced higher education professionals who can contribute to high-quality instruction in a hybrid learning environment.

Doctoral-level candidates are strongly preferred, particularly for upper-level and graduate courses. Qualified candidates holding a relevant master's degree may also be considered based on the level and subject matter of the courses assigned.

The ideal candidate will have relevant academic credentials, higher education teaching experience, strong subject-matter expertise, and the ability to effectively teach in both in-person and online/hybrid formats.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Instruction

• Teach assigned courses in a hybrid environment, including both online and in-person instruction as required.
• Deliver engaging, organized, and academically rigorous instruction.
• Prepare course materials, lectures, assignments, assessments, and other instructional resources.
• Facilitate meaningful student engagement and interaction.
• Evaluate student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Maintain regular communication with students throughout the course.
• Hold office hours or designated student support times as required.
• Support students in achieving course and program learning outcomes.

Course & Curriculum Support

• Follow approved course descriptions, learning outcomes, syllabi, and academic standards.
• Collaborate with academic leadership regarding course content and instructional expectations.
• Recommend updates to course materials and instructional resources based on current developments in the discipline.
• Incorporate appropriate technology and current industry or professional practices into instruction.
• Ensure course content is appropriate for the assigned academic level.

Student Success & Academic Standards

• Promote an inclusive, professional, and student-centered learning environment.
• Support students with questions related to course content and academic expectations.
• Maintain accurate attendance, grades, and other required academic records.
• Follow University policies regarding grading, academic integrity, student privacy, and professional conduct.
• Participate in faculty meetings, orientation, training, or other academic activities as required.

QualificationsPreferred Qualifications

• Doctorate (Ph.D., Ed.D., DBA, D.Sc., or other appropriate terminal degree) in the relevant discipline is strongly preferred.
• Prior college or university teaching experience.
• Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate-level courses.
• Experience teaching in online, hybrid, or blended learning environments.
• Professional experience relevant to the discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach effectively using educational technology.

Minimum Qualifications — Business Administration

• Master's degree in Business Administration or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution; doctoral degree preferred.
• Alternatively, a master's degree in a related discipline with sufficient graduate coursework directly aligned with the subject(s) to be taught.
• Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in the specific Business course(s) assigned.
• Prior higher education teaching experience preferred.

Minimum Qualifications — Computer Science

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution; doctoral degree preferred.
• Alternatively, a master's degree with sufficient graduate coursework directly aligned with the subject(s) to be taught.
• Demonstrated subject-matter expertise in the specific Computer Science/technology course(s) assigned.
• Prior higher education teaching experience preferred.

Local & Hybrid Requirement

Because American Prime University operates in a hybrid learning environment, candidates must be comfortable teaching both online and in-person courses as assigned.

Candidates located in Broward County or the greater Miami/South Florida area are strongly preferred.

Faculty should be available to participate in required in-person classes, faculty meetings, orientation, or other University activities as needed.

Compensation

Part-time independent contractor (1099).

Compensation may be structured on a per-credit-hour basis, depending on the University's selected compensation structure and the faculty member's qualifications and course assignment.

• Higher education teaching experience
• Professional/industry experience
• Academic level of the course
• Other relevant qualifications
