Job Description:

General Summary:

Construction Field Representative/Field Engineer inspects, monitors and documents the work in progress on site for facility projects during construction, commissioning, final acceptance, and post-construction phases to ensure the work is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and the project schedule. This position is based on site in Lake Orion, Michigan. Occasional weekend work may be required to support business and project needs.

Essential Job Functions:

• Serve as a liaison between the contractor, architect and engineers
• Review, comment, and approve construction documents
• Review, comment, and approve shop submittals
• Review, comment, and approve Request For Information (RFI’s) forms
• Provide field checks and/or investigations as per request of office team
• Gather site/facility photos during and upon completion of the project.
• Attend construction meetings on behalf of AE Team.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Employment Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Engineering field preferred or related work experience
• Professional Registration preferred

Experience:

• Candidates with a background in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering are preferred.
  
• 5 years of experience with construction and the administration of construction contracts.
• LEED training preferred
• ADA training preferred
• Safety training preferred

Skills/Competencies:

• Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Schedule, AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred
• Excellent communication and written skills
