FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Digital Content Creator (Nightside, Regular Full-Time)
WTTG/WDCA – FOX 5 DC/FOX 5 Plus
Are you ready to help drive digital coverage for one of the most respected local television stations in the nation’s capital? FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is seeking a fast, detail-oriented, and highly dependable Digital Content Creator to join our industry-leading newsroom.
As part of Fox Corporation and Fox Television Stations, we deliver more hours of original live programming than any other local station in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia market. In this role, you’ll serve as a key digital point person—ensuring stories and real-time news and events are covered with high velocity, accuracy, and impact for the user across all platforms, including web, social, streaming, and connected TV.
This position is based fully in FOX 5 DC’s newsroom in Bethesda, MD, nightside Monday - Friday shift.

What You’ll Do
- Own Digital Execution: Act as the newsroom’s digital quarterback—publishing and managing content as it develops in real-time across FOX 5’s website, apps, social platforms, and YouTube in coordination with the Northeast Regional Digital Content Team.
- Write & Produce with Urgency: Create clear, accurate, and engaging content–including articles, video clips, live streams, social elements and push alerts–with a focus on being first (and best) to publish during breaking news, big stories and weather events.
- Command the Stream: Manage live streams and VOD distribution for FOX LOCAL and social platforms, ensuring a seamless "lean-back" experience for our CTV audience.
- Coordinate in Real Time: Work closely with newsroom staff, assignment desk, producers, regional team and field crews to ensure speed, accuracy, and consistency across platforms.
- Distribute Across Platforms: Adapt and optimize content for web, mobile, social media, and streaming audiences.
- Monitor & Respond: Aggressively track wires, social feeds, and scanners to identify developing stories and initiate coverage immediately.
- Optimize for Reach: Use SEO best practices and real-time analytics to maximize reach and improve performance.
- Collaborate Broadly: Partner with the Northeast Region, the Group Content Team and other FTS markets to scale high-interest stories across the FTS network.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned, reporting to the Digital Editorial Lead.
What We’re Looking For
- Speed & Accuracy: Proven ability to move quickly on decision making and content creation without sacrificing quality or editorial judgment.
- Proactive Communicator: Clear, proactive communicator who can coordinate effectively across teams during high-pressure situations. You are vocal and assertive in coordinating digital coverage across teams.
- Digital Expertise: Experience publishing across CMS platforms, social media, streaming, and video platforms like YouTube.
- Editorial Judgment: Strong news instincts with a commitment to journalistic integrity and a mastery of AP style.
- Multitasking Mastery: Comfortable managing the real-time production of multiple stories and platform priorities simultaneously.
- Technical Agility: Proficiency in content management systems, SEO, live streaming, vertical video editing, digital analytics, and basic photo editing.
- Team-Oriented Mindset: Reliable, collaborative, and solutions-focused—someone the newsroom can depend on as a go-to digital contact.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience producing and publishing digital news content.
- Experience in a medium-to-large market newsroom preferred.

Additional Details
FOX 5 DC / FOX 5 Plus is a 24/7 operation. This high-impact role requires flexibility to work varied hours including overtime, early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, and in the case of breaking news.
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $90,000.00-94,400.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
