Controller Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a controller in Nevada?
Most Nevada controllers hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a CPA license issued or recognized by the Nevada State Board of Accountancy, which requires passing the Uniform CPA Examination and meeting Nevada's education and experience hours. From there, candidates typically progress through senior accountant and accounting manager roles before reaching the controller level. Experience with Nevada's dominant industries, especially gaming, construction, or real estate, accelerates hiring.
Which companies hire controllers in Nevada?
Nevada controller roles are posted by JT4, Gucci, and Tesla and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Nevada's gaming and resort industry generates a particularly consistent volume of controller openings, given the complex multi-property structures and strict regulatory reporting those employers maintain.
Which Nevada cities have the most controller jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and Elko are the cities with the most controller openings in Nevada. Las Vegas dominates the distribution because it is home to the headquarters and regional finance teams of the state's largest gaming, hospitality, and real estate companies, while Reno and Henderson have grown as corporate back-office and data center operations have expanded into the northern and southern suburbs.
Are there remote controller jobs in Nevada?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical roles because controllers typically oversee on-site accounting staff, manage physical records, and coordinate directly with operations. About 33% of controller openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, which is meaningful but modest. The tasks most likely to be performed remotely are financial reporting, budgeting, and audit preparation rather than day-to-day team supervision.
How can I get hired as a controller in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a staff or senior accountant role at one of Nevada's large gaming, construction, or real estate companies and working toward a supervisory position from within. MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment, and major homebuilders active in the Las Vegas Valley regularly bring on accounting associates and promote internally. Earning a CPA license through the Nevada State Board of Accountancy while in an entry role is the credential that most consistently accelerates the move into a controller-track position.
Where can I find and apply to controller jobs in Nevada?
You can find and apply to controller jobs in Nevada on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to Nevada employers. Search for roles that match your experience level and industry background, then apply directly to the ones that fit. No sign-up is required to see available positions.
