COO Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a coo in New Hampshire?
Becoming a coo in New Hampshire typically requires a bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field, followed by a graduate credential such as an MBA. There is no state-issued license required specifically for the coo role in New Hampshire. Most employers expect a career path that moves through director and VP-level operations roles, often within a New England industry such as healthcare, manufacturing, or financial services, before stepping into a chief operating officer position.
Which companies hire coos in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire coo roles are posted by Anduril, Amphenol, and BAE Systems USA and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New Hampshire's anchor industries, including health systems, defense contractors, and regional financial institutions, represent the most consistent sources of senior operational leadership hiring.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most coo jobs?
Nashua, Keene, and Portsmouth account for the greatest concentration of coo openings in New Hampshire. Manchester drives volume as the state's largest city and commercial center, Nashua draws demand from its dense cluster of technology and defense employers along the Massachusetts border, and Concord produces openings tied to state government, healthcare administration, and regional financial organizations headquartered in the capital area.
Are there remote coo jobs in New Hampshire?
Yes, but they're rare. About 40% of coo openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the reality that most chief operating officer roles require in-person leadership presence. The portions of the role most likely to be performed remotely include board reporting, financial review cycles, and strategic planning work rather than day-to-day operational oversight.
How can I get hired as a coo in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path for an aspiring coo in New Hampshire is to build depth in a director-level operations, finance, or general management role at a larger New Hampshire employer such as a regional hospital network, a BAE Systems subsidiary, or a mid-market manufacturer. Moving laterally from VP of Operations, Director of Finance, or Chief of Staff roles is the most common bridge. Earning an MBA from a New England institution and demonstrating measurable P&L impact in prior roles strengthens candidacy considerably.
Where can I find and apply to coo jobs in New Hampshire?
You can find and apply to coo jobs in New Hampshire on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search the listings, identify roles that match your background and target sector, and apply directly to the ones that fit your experience level and location preferences.
