Corporate Development Analyst Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate development analyst in California?
Most corporate development analyst roles in California require a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field, typically from a UC or CSU campus or a private university. No state-issued license is required for the role itself. Employers in California's technology and biotech sectors strongly favor candidates who have completed a finance or banking internship, a CFA Level I credential, or coursework in valuation and M&A, which signal readiness for deal work from day one.
How much do corporate development analysts make in California?
Corporate development analysts in California earn a median of about $101,460 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,360 for the lowest 10% to over $174,970 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire corporate development analysts in California?
Employers hiring corporate development analysts in California right now include Apple, Adobe, and Intuit, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's dense concentration of publicly traded technology companies and well-funded life sciences firms means corporate development teams here work on acquisitions and strategic investments at a scale rarely matched in other states.
Which California cities have the most corporate development analyst jobs?
San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Jose have the most corporate development analyst openings in California. San Francisco and its neighboring Bay Area cities drive volume through the headquarters of major technology companies, while Los Angeles attracts openings from media, entertainment, and consumer brands, and San Diego draws postings from a large cluster of publicly traded biotechnology and medical device firms.
Are there remote corporate development analyst jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most financial roles, given that analysis and modeling can be done independently. About 30% of corporate development analyst openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting an ongoing shift among technology and private equity employers. The most remote-friendly parts of the role are financial modeling and research, while due diligence and deal meetings generally require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a corporate development analyst in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a financial analyst or investment banking analyst role first, then moving into corporate development once you have deal exposure. Large California technology firms like Google and Meta, as well as major investment banks with California offices, run structured analyst programs that accept new graduates and serve as a direct pipeline into corporate development. Building a discounted cash flow model on a real California company and earning a CFA Level I credential strengthens any entry-level application considerably.
Where can I find and apply to corporate development analyst jobs in California?
You can find and apply to corporate development analyst jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your background and experience and apply directly to each one without creating a profile or signing up first.
