Venture Home is seeking a motivated and organized Permitting Department Intern to join our growing team in Stamford, CT. As a Permitting Intern, you'll play an important role in helping projects move forward by coordinating with local building departments, tracking permit applications, and ensuring information is communicated accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with municipal building departments by phone and email to obtain permit updates and information.
- Monitor permit applications through various online municipal portals.
- Track permit statuses and maintain accurate, organized records.
- Coordinate with internal team members to relay updates and next steps.
- Follow up on outstanding applications and requests in a timely manner.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to permitting and project coordination.
- Learn and navigate different municipal processes and software platforms.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is:
- Comfortable speaking on the phone and willing to make frequent outbound calls throughout the day.
- Tech-savvy and able to learn new software systems and online portals quickly.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicating information clearly and professionally.
- Proactive, dependable, and eager to solve problems.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (preferred).

Does a Department Manager role qualify for CPT authorization?

Part-time CPT is defined as fewer than 20 hours per week and doesn't affect your OPT eligibility. Can I hold a supervisory role while on CPT without violating my F-1 status?
