Get Access To All JobsEnterprise Customer Success CPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Does an Enterprise Customer Success role qualify for CPT?
Yes, if your school's DSO confirms the work is an integral part of your curriculum. Enterprise Customer Success roles involve stakeholder communication, data analysis, and business process management, competencies directly tied to business, management, and communication degree programs. The key is documenting that connection in your CPT authorization request before your start date.
Can I do full-time CPT in an Enterprise Customer Success position without affecting OPT?
You can, but the timing matters. Using 12 or more months of full-time CPT eliminates your OPT eligibility entirely. Many enterprise CS roles require full-time availability, so talk to your DSO about structuring CPT part-time during the academic year and full-time only during breaks if preserving OPT for post-graduation matters to your H-1B visa transition plan.
How do I find Enterprise Customer Success employers who sponsor international students?
Migrate Mate filters Enterprise Customer Success openings by employers with documented CPT and OPT hiring history, so you're not guessing which companies have international hiring pipelines. Enterprise-stage companies with dedicated CS teams are also more likely to have in-house immigration support, which reduces processing delays when your authorization needs to move quickly.
What documentation does my employer need to provide for CPT authorization?
Your DSO typically needs a signed offer letter that includes your job title, start date, work location, weekly hours, and a description of your responsibilities. For Enterprise Customer Success roles, the letter should specifically name tasks like client onboarding, adoption metrics, or cross-functional coordination so your DSO can draw a clear line to your coursework.
Does working in Enterprise Customer Success on CPT help with future H-1B sponsorship?
CPT itself doesn't generate H-1B filing history, but your time in an enterprise CS role builds the work record and employer relationship that matter for sponsorship. Enterprise Customer Success typically qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards when the role requires a bachelor's degree in a specific field, which is the foundational requirement for an H-1B petition.
