It qualifies if your school's curriculum includes HR, business administration, organizational behavior, or a related program and the duties are an integral part of that curriculum. Your DSO makes the final determination based on your specific program and the employer's job description.

Can I do CPT for an HR Assistant role at a company that doesn't sponsor visas?

Yes. CPT authorization comes from your school, not USCIS or the employer. The employer doesn't file anything with USCIS for CPT. What matters is that your DSO approves the placement and the work is curricular. Visa sponsorship only becomes relevant if you later need H-1B visa or another status after graduation.

How do I find HR Assistant employers that have experience hiring F-1 students on CPT?
