Customer Sales Advisor Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a customer sales advisor in Rhode Island?
The path depends on the industry. For insurance-focused roles, you must obtain a Rhode Island insurance producer license through the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation, which requires completing pre-licensing education and passing the state licensing exam. For financial services or retail sales roles, no state license is required, but a bachelor's degree in business or communications and relevant customer service experience are the most common hiring criteria across Rhode Island employers.
Which companies hire customer sales advisors in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island customer sales advisor roles are posted by Navigant Credit Union, New York Life, and Balise Auto and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of insurance carriers, regional banks, and healthcare networks means openings appear across a diverse range of established employers with long-term hiring needs in the state.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most customer sales advisor jobs?
Providence, Lincoln, and Johnston have the most customer sales advisor openings in Rhode Island. Providence drives the largest share of listings as the state's commercial and financial center, home to major corporate offices and regional headquarters, while Warwick benefits from its concentration of insurance carriers and its proximity to T.F. Green Airport, which attracts national companies with local operations.
Are there remote customer sales advisor jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and they are relatively common for this role. About 11% of customer sales advisor openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based, phone-driven nature of much of the work. The positions most likely to be fully remote are inbound account management and insurance renewals roles, while new business development roles more often require in-person client meetings.
How can I get hired as a customer sales advisor in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to customer service representative or inside sales associate roles at Rhode Island insurance carriers or regional banks, which routinely hire candidates without direct sales experience and provide on-the-job licensing support. Amica Mutual and Citizens Financial Group both run structured onboarding programs for early-career hires. Completing the Rhode Island insurance pre-licensing coursework independently before applying gives candidates a clear advantage and signals serious intent to hiring managers across the state.
Where can I find and apply to customer sales advisor jobs in Rhode Island?

Search the roles available, find the ones that match your background and preferred industry, and apply directly to the ones that fit. No signup is needed to see the listings.
