Marketing Account Manager Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing account manager in Rhode Island?
Most Rhode Island employers hire marketing account managers with a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, and the role carries no state-issued license or exam requirement. The typical path is to start in a coordinator, marketing assistant, or junior account executive position at a Rhode Island agency, in-house team, or healthcare organization, then advance into account management after building client relationship and campaign execution experience. A portfolio of campaign results or a professional marketing certification strengthens most applications.
Which companies hire marketing account managers in Rhode Island?
Employers hiring marketing account managers in Rhode Island right now include CVS Health, Gilbane, and Teknor Apex Company, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of insurance, healthcare, and consumer brand headquarters means account managers here often work on long-cycle B2B relationships alongside traditional consumer campaigns.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most marketing account manager jobs?
Providence, Smithfield, and Rhode Island have the most marketing account manager openings in Rhode Island. Providence drives the largest share of listings as the state's commercial and healthcare hub, while Warwick and Cranston draw openings from the insurance and financial services companies headquartered along the Route 2 and Post Road corridors south of Providence.
Are there remote marketing account manager jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 38% of marketing account manager openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based, communication-driven nature of the role. Strategy, reporting, and digital campaign management tend to be the most remote-friendly functions, while client onboarding and in-person presentations still pull some roles back on-site.
How can I get hired as a marketing account manager in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a marketing coordinator or junior account executive role at one of Rhode Island's independent or mid-size agencies in Providence, then building toward account management as you take on client contact responsibilities. Healthcare organizations like Brown University Health and large insurers like Amica also hire marketing associates who rotate through account-facing work. A focused portfolio showing campaign results, client communication samples, or a Google Analytics or HubSpot certification gives candidates without a full account management history a concrete edge in Rhode Island interviews.
