- Develop account-specific content and messaging that translates account insights, business priorities and AWS capabilities into relevant narratives and assets that engage key decision makers and buying groups.
- Use data and customer intelligence to inform strategy, leveraging engagement data, buying signals, account insights, and market trends to identify opportunities and continuously optimize programs.
- Partner across AWS marketing organizations, including Global CoE, Industry, Partner, Digital, Events, and other teams, to orchestrate AWS capabilities around strategic customer opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to collaborate with AWS partners where joint engagement can strengthen customer value propositions, deepen relationships, or accelerate strategic opportunities.
- Measure business impact, establishing account-level objectives and evaluating engagement, account progression, opportunity acceleration, pipeline influence, revenue contribution, and program ROI.
- Build for scale, identifying successful approaches, codifying best practices, and creating repeatable frameworks that can be adopted across accounts and regions.
- Contribute to the evolution of ABM at AWS, sharing insights, experimentation, and best practices with the broader global ABM community.

Marketing Account Manager Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a marketing account manager in California?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, or business, followed by entry-level agency or in-house marketing experience in California. No state-issued license is required for this role. California employers, particularly agencies in Los Angeles and San Francisco, typically expect candidates to build hands-on account coordination experience before moving into full account management, often supported by certifications from platforms like Google or HubSpot.
Which companies hire marketing account managers in California?
Employers hiring marketing account managers in California right now include Lam Research, Amazon Web Services, and Team Velocity Marketing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. California's dense concentration of technology companies, entertainment studios, and digital-first consumer brands means the pipeline of openings is broad and refreshes frequently throughout the year.
Which California cities have the most marketing account manager jobs?
Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Orange lead California for marketing account manager openings. Los Angeles drives the largest volume through its entertainment, media, and advertising agency ecosystems, while San Francisco and San Jose reflect the B2B technology sector's strong appetite for account management talent, and San Diego rounds out the market with a growing mix of biotech, defense, and consumer brand employers.
Are there remote marketing account manager jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 55% of marketing account manager openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and communications-driven nature of the work. Campaign strategy, client reporting, and performance analysis are the parts of the role most commonly performed fully remote, while new-business pitches and key client reviews tend to remain in person.
How can I get hired as a marketing account manager in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an account coordinator or marketing coordinator role at a California agency or in-house team, which is how most account managers begin. Large California agencies and technology companies in Los Angeles and San Francisco regularly bring in entry-level candidates through marketing associate programs and new-grad recruiting. Lateral moves from adjacent roles in content, social media, or paid media are common. A portfolio showing campaign results and a Google Analytics or HubSpot certification give candidates a measurable edge.
