Sales Consultant Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales consultant in Rhode Island?
Most sales consultant roles in Rhode Island require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, though many employers will consider equivalent experience. For insurance or financial product sales, you must obtain a Rhode Island insurance producer license through the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation, which requires completing pre-licensing education and passing the state exam. For general B2B or retail sales roles, a strong portfolio of results and familiarity with CRM tools carries the most weight.
Which companies hire sales consultants in Rhode Island?
Employers hiring sales consultants in Rhode Island right now include Cellular Sales, Verizon Authorized Retailer, Balise Auto, and ADVANCED DIGITAL WIRELESS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of insurance carriers, financial services firms, and healthcare companies means demand for consultants with industry-specific product knowledge tends to be especially consistent.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most sales consultant jobs?
Warwick, Cranston, and Providence have the most sales consultant openings in Rhode Island. Providence anchors the market as the state's commercial and financial center, while Warwick and Cranston draw significant hiring from insurance carriers, healthcare distributors, and regional corporate offices that cluster along the Route 2 and Route 95 corridors south of Providence.
Are there remote sales consultant jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than many fields. About 17% of sales consultant openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the role's natural fit with phone and video-based selling. Inside sales, SaaS account management, and financial product consulting are the segments most likely to offer fully remote arrangements, while field sales and retail-facing roles typically require in-person work.
How can I get hired as a sales consultant in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an inside sales representative or sales development representative role, which larger Rhode Island employers such as CVS Health and Amica Mutual use as structured on-ramps to full consultative positions. Retail sales associate roles at Providence-area consumer brands also build the client-facing fundamentals employers look for. Earning a Rhode Island insurance producer license before applying gives candidates a concrete edge when targeting insurance or financial services firms, even without prior sales experience.
Where can I find and apply to sales consultant jobs in Rhode Island?
You can find and apply to sales consultant jobs in Rhode Island on Migrate Mate, which lists current Rhode Island openings. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and interests, and apply directly to the positions that fit.
