Account Manager Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a account manager in Rhode Island?
Most account manager roles in Rhode Island require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field, along with prior client-facing or sales experience. Rhode Island does not require a state-issued license for general account management work. Candidates pursuing roles in the commercial insurance sector should consider obtaining a Rhode Island Property and Casualty Producer License through the Rhode Island Division of Insurance, which strengthens applications at major carriers and brokerages based in the state.
How much do account managers make in Rhode Island?
Account managers in Rhode Island earn a median of about $81,450 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $43,680 for the lowest 10% to over $132,020 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire account managers in Rhode Island?
Employers hiring account managers in Rhode Island right now include Cape Cod, Rhode Island Blood Center, and FujiFilm, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of insurance carriers, financial services firms, and regional healthcare technology companies means account management demand stays relatively steady throughout the year.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most account manager jobs?
Providence, North Kingstown, and Cranston have the most account manager openings in Rhode Island. Providence drives the largest share of listings as the state's primary business center, home to corporate offices, regional headquarters, and financial institutions, while Warwick and Cranston attract openings tied to insurance carriers and professional services firms clustered along the Route 2 and I-95 corridors.
Are there remote account manager jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and they are more available here than in many fields. About 50% of account manager openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the role revolves around phone, email, and video-based client communication. The most fully remote positions tend to sit in technology sales and software account management rather than in insurance or financial services, where in-person client contact remains common.
How can I get hired as a account manager in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative, customer success coordinator, or client services associate role at one of Rhode Island's insurance carriers or financial services firms, where internal promotion into account management is common. Employers like Amica Mutual and regional insurance brokerages frequently hire entry-level client service staff and develop them into full account management roles. Earning a Rhode Island Property and Casualty Producer License early signals commitment and removes a barrier that otherwise delays hiring.
Where can I find and apply to account manager jobs in Rhode Island?
You can find and apply to account manager jobs in Rhode Island on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings, identify the roles that fit your background and target industry, and apply directly to the ones that match. No additional steps are required before applying.
