Cybersecurity Engineer Jobs in Missouri

Join our team as a Cyber Security Engineer and help protect critical systems, applications, and data in a dynamic cybersecurity environment. This role supports proprietary applications across Linux and Windows environments and plays a key part in monitoring, investigating, and strengthening system security.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Linux and Windows systems and proprietary applications.
• Monitor, identify, investigate, and resolve security issues and potential threats.
• Implement and maintain access controls, security policies, and system protections.
• Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and periodic system reviews.
• Analyze system logs, network traffic, and attack artifacts to support incident investigations.
• Administer and troubleshoot firewalls, network security tools, and related infrastructure.
• Support and maintain enterprise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms.
• Develop and deploy security signatures using tools such as YARA, Snort, Suricata, or HIPS.
• Identify opportunities for security and process improvements.
• Prepare system performance and security reports and communicate system status.
• Maintain current technical knowledge through training, industry publications, and professional development.
• Cross-train and collaborate with team members while also working independently.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent education/work experience.
• 4+ years of relevant cybersecurity, network security, or system administration experience.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent) at start date.
• Advanced cybersecurity certification preferred, such as GIAC (GCIA/GCIH), CISSP, CASP, or equivalent SIEM-specific training/certification.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, OSI model, system administration, and defense-in-depth security.
• Experience analyzing large volumes of logs, network data, and security artifacts.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning and DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM).
• Experience with security technologies such as antivirus, HIPS, IDS/IPS, full packet capture, host/network forensics, and RSA Security.
• Experience with at least one enterprise SIEM platform, such as Splunk, ArcSight, QRadar, LogLogic, or McAfee Enterprise Security Manager.
• Working knowledge of VMware, Unix/Linux, mobile operating systems, and basic Unix commands.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, troubleshooting, and process-improvement skills.
• Experience with the U.S. DoD is a plus.
