Data Analytics Lead Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analytics lead in Pennsylvania?
Data analytics lead roles in Pennsylvania do not require a state-issued license or registration. Most hiring managers expect a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field and several years of hands-on analytics experience, with a master's in data science, business analytics, or statistics increasingly preferred for leadership roles. Pennsylvania's dense concentration of financial services and health systems means candidates who build domain expertise in those industries and demonstrate project leadership progress most reliably into lead-level positions.
How much do data analytics leads make in Pennsylvania?
Data analytics leads in Pennsylvania earn a median of about $106,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,340 for the lowest 10% to over $162,290 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analytics leads in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring data analytics leads in Pennsylvania right now include PNC Financial Services, Kepler, and First National Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's mix of large health systems, financial institutions, and consumer-facing corporations means analytics leadership roles appear across a wider range of industries here than in most comparably sized states.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most data analytics lead jobs?
The cities with the most data analytics lead openings in Pennsylvania are Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Malvern. Philadelphia's concentration of health systems, insurers, and Fortune 500 headquarters drives the largest share, while Pittsburgh's growing technology and financial sectors fuel demand there, and smaller markets like King of Prussia and Harrisburg reflect the suburban campuses of major employers in retail, state government, and managed care.
Are there remote data analytics lead jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields, because data analytics lead work is fundamentally desk-based and output-focused. About 53% of data analytics lead openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how readily the role transfers to distributed teams. Strategy work, reporting, and stakeholder presentations are the functions most consistently handled remotely, while roles that require close coordination with IT infrastructure or on-site data governance programs tend to expect some in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a data analytics lead in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from a data analyst or business intelligence analyst role within a large Pennsylvania employer and building a record of independently scoping and delivering projects. Health systems like UPMC and Jefferson Health, along with insurers such as Independence Blue Cross, run structured analyst programs that create a pipeline into lead roles. Building proficiency in a BI platform, contributing to a public portfolio on GitHub, and pursuing a certification in a tool like Tableau or dbt gives candidates a concrete edge when competing against applicants with more years on paper.
Where can I find and apply to data analytics lead jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to data analytics lead jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and preferred location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
