Data Architect Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data architect in Colorado?
Colorado has no state-issued license or registration specific to data architects, so the path runs through education and industry credentials. Most Colorado employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or engineering, with a master's preferred at senior levels. Earning a vendor-recognized certification in cloud architecture from AWS, Microsoft, or Google carries significant weight with Colorado hiring managers, particularly in the aerospace, financial, and health tech sectors dominant in the state.
Which companies hire data architects in Colorado?
Colorado data architect roles are posted by Danone, Google, and NVIDIA and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's mix of aerospace primes, regional health systems, financial services firms, and cloud-native tech companies means demand is spread across industries rather than concentrated in a single sector.
Which Colorado cities have the most data architect jobs?
Colorado, Denver, and Boulder account for the most data architect openings in Colorado. Denver anchors demand through its dense concentration of financial services, healthcare, and technology headquarters, while Boulder draws roles from cloud software and research-driven companies, and Colorado Springs reflects hiring by aerospace and defense contractors with large local footprints.
Are there remote data architect jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields. Data architecture is fundamentally a design and strategy discipline that translates well to distributed work. About 64% of data architect openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers in the state have accepted flexible arrangements for this role. The portions of the work most often done remotely include data modeling, governance framework development, and stakeholder alignment sessions.
How can I get hired as a data architect in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a data analyst or data engineer role into an associate or junior architect position. Colorado health systems like Centura Health and SCL Health, along with aerospace employers such as Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, regularly post entry-level data and analytics roles that serve as direct pipelines to architecture work. Building a portfolio of data models, pipeline designs, or cloud architecture diagrams on a personal project or open-source contribution strengthens any application, and completing a cloud architecture certification before applying gives candidates a measurable credential that Colorado hiring managers recognize.
Where can I find and apply to data architect jobs in Colorado?
You can find and apply to data architect jobs in Colorado on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings in the state. Search through the roles posted, find the ones that match your background and preferred location or work arrangement, and apply directly through each listing.
