Delivery Driver Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a delivery driver in Indiana?
To become a delivery driver in Indiana, you need a valid Indiana driver's license issued by the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, a clean driving record, and the physical ability to handle packages. For roles involving vehicles over a certain weight, a commercial driver's license from the Indiana BMV is required. Most employers conduct a background check and motor vehicle record review before hiring, with no formal degree required.
Which companies hire delivery drivers in Indiana?
Employers hiring delivery drivers in Indiana right now include Domino's, NAPA Auto Parts, and MedSpeed, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Indiana's dense logistics corridor along the I-65 and I-70 corridors supports sustained hiring from national carriers, regional distributors, and grocery chains with fulfillment operations across the state.
Which Indiana cities have the most delivery driver jobs?
Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, and Hammond have the most delivery driver openings in Indiana. Indianapolis drives the bulk of demand as the state's largest metro with major distribution centers and a high density of retail and restaurant delivery operations, while Fort Wayne and Evansville add steady volume through regional logistics facilities and growing residential delivery networks.
Are there remote delivery driver jobs in Indiana?
Yes, but they're rare. About 6% of delivery driver openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, since the role is fundamentally hands-on and requires physical presence on a route. The small share of remote-adjacent roles typically involves dispatching, route planning, or delivery fleet coordination rather than active driving.
How can I get hired as a delivery driver in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to package delivery and grocery delivery services that offer paid on-the-job training, since most do not require prior professional driving experience. Amazon Logistics and UPS regularly post entry-level driver helper and seasonal delivery roles at their Indiana facilities that transition into full routes. Holding a valid Indiana driver's license and a clean driving record is the most important credential, and completing a forklift safety or defensive driving course through a community organization can help your application stand out.
Where can I find and apply to delivery driver jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to delivery driver jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings from employers hiring now. Search the available roles, find the ones that match your experience and location, and apply directly to the employer through the listing.
